Petawawa Terrace Provincial Park
It was a gorgeous day and a hot one. This cause most of the ice and snow to melt. Luckily, we were prepared with waterproof boots and shoes. It was a really nice shaded walk with a really nice view of the river. People here have been mostly respectful but a few have left their doggie bags or simply have not picked up after their dogs. Otherwise, the park is really nice. There is a playground right by it which makes it even more family friendly. Note that parking is limited.

Beautiful place to bring your family or friends! Even just to go for a walk :) A lot of beauty and different activities to do there (park, picnic, sit by water)

Petawawa Terrace Provincial Park
I love this little park. I hike here regularly. Great place to get into the outdoors for an hour while still being close to home. Great place to walk your dog. Just be aware if you have a reactive dog that some areas of the trail are narrow, be prepared to venture off trail to let other pass. Even though signs are abundant that there are fines for off leash dogs I have encountered many off leash dogs. Still love this park, the views of the Ottawa River through the trees at sunrise are stunning. Trails are well maintained. New trail signs went up last summer!

Petawawa Terrace Provincial Park
2023, Trail is in great shape. Lots of room on the trails. It is a nature path so there will be roots, stumps and trees. Lots of side trails and off shoots for the explorers. Undergrowth is minimal in most places so you can go through the trees if you wish. Trails are well marked as well. Main loop can be busy at the usual times. Parking lot at trail head as well.

Petawawa Terrace Provincial Park
Petawawa Terrace may be one of the most underrated small parks in Ontario. With its stunning pine forest trails and the marshes below offering a bird watching and animal watching haven while studying the history of the old fish hatchery.Trails and signage need some work and a boardwalk in the marsh would be great!

Petawawa Terrace Provincial Park
This is a super fun trail! We love that there is your typical loop, however, if you are feeling a little adventurous you can trail off through the center and zigzag through different paths to create your own trail. You will even come across a little hidden fairy land and some other small fun features like a ladder and forts. Totally worth venturing off the path less traveled!
