The small plates are beautifully presented and delicious. You must try the stone bowls too. The food is great. The cold sake was good value and is served in an ice cold unique carafe. My husband enjoyed the wine. Lots of interesting cocktails as well. The room has a friendly fun atmosphere and the service was excellent. It is dimly lit with tables and booths good for a date night too.

Randomly stumbled upon this place and we were not disappointed. Everything we ordered was amazing. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and each ingredient was added with intention. The service was attentive, we always had water in our glasses and service was super quick. Loved it

Have been eating at Hapa for 20 years since it first opened on Robson in 2003. The staff are always awesome and the food excellent, with a great atmosphere. Justin always goes out of his way to make my family welcome and he is one of the reasons we always return, and the main reason that this gem of a restaurant has lasted so long. Keep up the good work Justin and Hapa team, we ❤️ Hapa!

The atmosphere was a little on the loud side hard to carry a conversation. The food was very good, lots of GF options. A little pricey for what you get. The server was amazing. .

We’ve come here several times with our family and each meal is delicious, freshly prepared and is a unique dish with a twist to the asian culinary world. The staff is attentive and very courteous. If you haven’t been to Hapa Izakaya in Yaletown you can only know you’ve had an amazing meal and experience by trying this place out. It’s one of the best in food and staff! Always a pleasure to dine here so I hope you guys stay open for years to come!

Falvors of 3 dishes we ordered 100% wowed me, especially the paper bag prawns! Will definitely go back for it! The other two dishese are beef with curry ishiyaki and Yaletown roll with hamachi.

Nice Japanese tapas bar with great food and drinks. The tako wasa, takoyaki, and Crispy calamari are all amazing and very fresh. The drinks are interesting mixes and are presented beautifully. Came here rather late in the evening so they could accommodate our bigger table on the patio. Service was good.

They don’t have a huge selection of Japanese cuisine items here, but the things that we did order were not bad. The sushi is not the best, but it was yummy. I really loved the dessert, although it could have come with a bit more ice cream. The patio seating is amazing, I had a very enjoyable time sitting out there.
