Pros - Djabber & Meriem were accommodating. They allowed me to check in much before 3 pm. The Manager even let me change room from Queen’s to King at no extra cost. I appreciate this.- Near to DT- Mattress was cozy for sleep- Hot water almost throughout the day- Wifi speed was decentCons- No front desk or lobby- Rooms were quite small, even the King sized- There was no bathtub in Queen’s, only shower. And the bathtub in King’s was very shallow, not deep at all. Plus shower didn’t have fast pressure.- The snow on the stairs outside was only removed 1 out of 6 days of my stay there. It’s not good for safety, especially when someone comes from DT drunk late at night- I was in room 4 & only certain rooms have views, mine didn’t. Although Queen room which was offered to me earlier had the view- I woke up late so don’t know what breakfast was there but seemed like only cupcakes, coffee & probably cereal. No sandwiches or any other stuff I think.- Guests not allowed. This I understand but if someone wants to bring a guest for short time then I think it should be ok.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and there is a reason this hotel is quite cheap. We can only review our specific room and I assume all the rooms are different. But our room had a really weird persistent smell, we even bought a candle to help with the smell but it would not go away. There is also a lack of ventilation. The room is kind of clean, there were a lot of dusty places and because of the smell it was hard to think everything was clean. Our room also doesn’t have a view, it looks directly at another building’s brick wall. This is fine except there is scaffolding right next to our window, everyday a man climbs up the scaffolding to do work and he can literally see us as we sleep if we don’t close the curtain all the way. So we had to keep the curtain closed the whole time unless we were ok being face to face with a construction worker. It would be extremely easy for someone to break into our room if they climbed that scaffolding and came through the window. Everything is very cheap, the continental breakfast as well as bathroom amenities. It makes it seem like they really don’t care about their guests, you can really tell the bare minimum is done. For some good things, parking was easy, things were pretty efficient and it was a great location. Definitely a strange experience since there is no lobby and no one to great you and ask questions in person. It’s all through the phone or e-mail. If you plan to stay here make sure you’re not planning on spending anytime in ur room except for sleeping!

Covered in bug bites from my stay. We are very confident they are bed bug bites based on the timing, location and pattern of the bites. Reached out to management after stay and was told they were likely mosquito bites. I am certain they are not mosquito bites. Wonderful trip to St. John’s but an unfortunate way to end the trip. Location is good. Rooms are very dated. Breakfast is basic.

Enjoyed staying here...does not have a front desk, but does have a live in house keeper. Breakfast is minimal but that's OK with me. Very professional operations. Would recommend and stay here anytime again.

The owner of this place is very unprofessional, and they will take advantage of you at any step possible. The cleaning staff are really nice and respectful, however you need to ask for your room to be serviced. Also they have people there isolating and don’t inform you before you book. Also the owner/manager is very unprofessional i can’t stress that enough!UPDATE. Today the manager threatened me and I had to get the police involved. The people who run this place have no idea of law or human decently.

Lovely Inn and very well located, close to the main streets! I was in room 5 which has a beautiful view and which was very comfortable and cozy.I arrived a bit earlier than expected and contacted the owner to ask if I could go in earlier. They answered promptly and told me when the room was ready.I didn't require a room cleaning so I don't know how the service is.Otherwise they offer a breakfast that you can access (I think all day even if it says during some hours) and by breakfast I mean little pastries, cereals, bread, tea/coffee in a cute kitchenette in the basement.I would say that St-Johns feels pretty safe and the area around the inn is no exception.I would definitely stay there again!

When you arrive at the Abba Inn, there’s no one to greet you. Your key and room information is in an envelope. When we entered our room we were disappointed at how small and dingy the rom was. There was one extremely small window with an antiquated air conditioner so you could not open a window for fresh air. There was no natural light source in the room. The room smelled like cigarette smoke. We sat down on the bed and found that the mattress was a very cheap piece of foam with no support whatsoever. We contacted the manager via email because that’s the only way to reach the person. His response was to deny that the room smelled of cigarettes. He also said no one has ever complained about the mattress which I simply do not believe. The quality of this place is not worth even half of what they are charging. Do yourself a favour and do not book this hotel.
