Trousdale's General Store

All that you expect an excellent, long time general store to be and more. It's quite large. Lots of great gift ideas, plus an ice cream counter!

Nice little store with a bit of everything. Lots of Canadian made products , like hot sauce, bbq sauce, ice cream, fresh bread and pretzels and sodas of interesting flavours, charcuterie boards, etc...

If you're a vintage lover,you'll simply adore this store!I probably would've stayed longer just to appreciate and take in everything...Hope to come back again.

Beautiful general store. Beautiful history. Beautiful staff. I had a wonderful time visiting Trousdale. Dog friendly, bonus points.

Gorgeous and spacious small town boutique. The store is incredibly packed with products of all kinds. Everything from self-care products, artisanal foods, clothing, games, and decor can be found. This store is so much bigger than I would have expected, and seems to keep going forever. Would highly recommend stopping by for a little shopping spree!

What an experience! Could easily spend half an hour and not see everything. Must see. Many Canadian arts, wonderful variety of lovely items . As well as antiques honoring the store's history. So worthwhile.

This is a cute shop with lots of over-priced items you can find just about anywhere else, for instance Bloomfield. We drove from Kingston on a country tour and this was our first stop. I had a friend with me who had never been so I wanted her to have this country experience. We were both in the Christmas spirit and ready to purchase gifts for our families. We are both super friendly, kind, open people who left the store shaking our heads as to what we could have possibly done wrong other than put money in their coffers. The owner and staff were so unfriendly, actually downright rude, that I was embarrassed for having brought my friend there. She was so perplexed to encounter such rudeness while shopping in any store let alone a country venue. We carried on to the Limestone Creamery and the Cookery in Inverary then on to Napanee venues where we were greeted with smiles and kindness. Either the Trousdale people have been in business way too long or they simply don't like their customers which doesn't seem to be a very good way to conduct business. Either way, we will never go back and I'll be sure to spread the word to my friends who are plentiful in that area and in Kingston. Shame on them.

Its like stepping back in to time. This place is vintage, retro and historic all in one . Staff members are knowledgeable and friendly. They are helpful in helping you find items your searching for. The young ladies with their big smiles were very polite. The old fashioned candy is surprisingly delicious and authentic . It is definatly a must stop when on your radar. You might even catch Dan Ackroyd here as he is a nearby resident

A great treasure in Sydenham. Family owned and Canada's oldest general store - nearing 200 years. Great selection from Canadian goods to imported products. They have everything from kitchenware to clothing. In addition they have a cafe where you can get coffee and other treats. The staff are so friendly and you'll love roaming the store. It's got a lot of history from the antiques to the family photos on the walls. Truly a place you won't want to miss.

What a wonderful store. Bought some of my Christmas presents there.
