Good place and really good people working there.Except for one who is a bit of an extreme stickler about empties, not sure why. No other liquor store employee has ever had comments directed my way, while I've had tedious discussions at least 4 times this far with this one!Other staff behave more normal there.This is thus the only liquor store around who continuously gives me grief about my innocent empty bottles and that's positively no fun.

The warmest beer in the west coast. It’s been convenient for me because it’s so close but all my house guests mentioned on how warm it is. Freezer before serving not so convenientAnd it’s still the warmest beer do something especially with your premium pricing.

Good range of premiums but prices are premium too, BC liquor better value overall but Jaks is much better location

Really looking forward to the next whisk(e)y tasting event. As a beginner this was a wonderful experience and was a welcoming one. Attendees whom had more experience were supportive and the individual whom navigated the journey helped guide conversation. There was no pressure and I encourage anyone to purchase tickets on eventbrite for a future event or call your local JAKS as I was told sometimes they are not posted online, so it is best to call. I am grateful for being accommodated with a chair for health conditions that I have. If anyone else has mobility issues please do not hesitate to let staff know as this will not prevent you from an inclusive and equal opportunity to the events offered. All staff followed up with my comfort and it was very kind! Thank you so much for the start of my Whisk(e)you journey.

Poor Customer Service! Years as a loyal customer means nothing to this business...I was asked my ID (I'm 40) by a new staff member and after speaking to a long time staff member who knows how often I shop here (and clearly knows I am well above the legal age) refused to sell me the wine I came in for. The reason was because he can't override" the new hires id check on me. I did not have it with me as I have never been id'd here and have been a regular for many years... also walked and waited in a lengthy line before coming in. I told him that I wasn't coming back and he just let me leave. Super disappointing.After reading other 1-2 star reviews for this location

Best scotch selection ever. I bought a johnnie walker green as a reward, and i cannot wait to crack it when i get a new job

The issue I have is with their I.D. policy. My friend, who had 2 pieces of I.D., was denied service because I had my interim driver’s licence and secondary I.D. and did not have photo I.D. It was clear I was not buying anything. They told us it was the law which is technically true. The BC Government page says “Licensees may set their own policies to ensure no minors are served or given liquor. For example, they can refuse to serve or sell liquor to a group if a person in the group can't show valid identification.” I don’t see how this is an effective policy for reducing the sale of liquor to minors since a person buying liquor for minors would not bring the minor into the store. The staff were just doing their jobs and following store policy but I just don’t see any value in the policy. I’m open to hearing the reasoning behind it. Thanks.

Was denied service, despite having two pieces of valid ID. They explained that they could sell me alcohol if I had a minor/child with me, but because my friend accompanying me had an in-term ID and not a photo ID, they could not sell to me or anyone else who also had valid ID, ask long as they were linked to me. I'm a regular customer and live very close to this liquor store. Needles to say, I will be avoiding this location due to its poor service, and illogical stipulations.It's already absurd that they prompt for a tip, for scanning an item, and giving unprofessional customer service. Wouldn't recommend spending any money here just out of principal.

Wide selection of craft and standard beers, great cider selection and a pretty reasonable wine and spirit selection for the store size.Staff have always been friendly and even with the pressures of covid-19 they haven't changed.All around great little neighborhood liquor store.Would love it if it was dog friendly. If it is post something on the door.

I hesitate to give this even 1 star. HORRIBLE customer service. Entering the store I explained to the Clerk that myself and 2 daughters were there to buy canned craft beer for our annual tradition of making a craft beer advent calendar for my husband/their dad. The Ckerk made no objection and in fact suggested WE look in the cooler as well. My daughters were close to me the whole time and at no time were shopping for themselves. After picking out 24 beers and what would have been an over $100 purchase the clerk refused to sell me the beer until my daughters produced id. I said they could leave if that was an issue. He told me that was not an option, that he would have to put everything away and I would have leave, come back and start over without them in the store. I understand policy but if this was going to be an issue he should have mentioned it when we walked in the door NOT at the point of purchase. Thank you for putting a damper on our Christmas tradition and I can definitely assure you I will never shop here again nor suggest this place to anyone.
