Fishing for Success

Outstanding all around. Leo, Kimberely and staff made this so fun, saw whales, puffins and got our fish within an hour, stunning scenery. Fresh fish tonite, do it!

It has been almost 2 years since I went on a tour with Fishing for Success with a group of friends. Yet it still keeps coming up in conversation as one of our best vacation memories ever. Leo and Kimberly are fantastic hosts who put a lot of time and effort into education and preserving the tradition of the fisheries in Newfoundland. They also adjusted the time of our tour slightly to accommodate the weather which worked out great. Not only did we catch our limit in cod, we also saw whales and enjoyed some sweets and tea in the fishing stage afterwards. I should have left this review long ago! I cannot recommend them more.

One of the most life changing experience you will encounter with people who understand the intricacies of the ecology, sustainability and environment. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking to integrate in to the fabric of Newfoundland where the key is the humble COD. You will slowly understand why countries fought wars over this fish. I was meaning to review fishing for success for a long time now, I had the pleasure of meeting Leo and Kimberely when I moved from Ireland to Canada in the summer of 2015, the luck of the story is I was blessed to have lived in petty harbour Newfoundland for 6 months and made great friends with Leo Hearn and he's wife Kimberely who were our neighbours, to make a long story short...you only meet people like this once in a lifetime, they would never see you stuck or hungry and they are true salt of the earth hard working Newfoundlanders, I watched Leo graft day in and day out building he's business, this will surely be a success because nobody knows fishing like Leo Hearn does, if your looking for the cod or daytrip to whale watch or see icebergs, Leo and Kimberely Hearn of fishing for success are the BEST in there field and I would like to wish them the best in the future..I'll be back,Wally

Staff went out of their way to make my son’s birthday fishing trip special. They also went out of their way to make it a teaching experience as well. The fishing trip was also a success. Had their limit of cod within an hour! Highly recommend!

Amazing evening of great fishing and comraderie. It’s all for a good cause to. Only downside my spouse caught the biggest fish. I’ll get over it. Would highly recommend for anyone
