Building and staff always shine upto date with a beautiful park and brand new play ground about to open. It's rite beside my residence.A gorgeous piece of history of our City. I usually go work out in that park in summer always clean if not I'll clean it :)Thanks for reading.

You have to make an appointment on their website first. When that's said and done, ring the doorbell outside, call them if you need help. I came here didn't know I had to make an appointment. Will have to come back another day.

My first visit here! Lived in Edmonton since the early 70’s but never knew of this place until today. If you are a history buff I would highly recommend this place! Open to the public on weekdays. Free admission. Ring the doorbell to get in.

I have attended this historic building twice recently. The first was for a short retreat. We were placed in a well equipped classroom that had all the modern conveniences a conference room should have but in a historic setting with archival photos and memorabilia all around. The second visit was last night for a Christmas reception. The top floor of the school was the venue. It served as a gymnasium in the remote past and was the seat for a year of our provincial government (1906). The venue served us well. History, decor, photos and memorabilia made it a nice place for our reception. The beautiful sloped ceiling has been restored and the roof above it replaced.

Wonderful presentation of how public education came to be and how it evolved as times changed. Looking at the text books in the library was a walk down memory lane.

My wedding ceremony was held at McKay Avenue Schoolhouse on August 5th, 2018. The building itself is gorgeous and perfect for bridal party pictures. The staff were very helpful and made sure the rehearsal and day of ran smoothly. I would definitely recommend future brides and grooms to consider McKay if they are looking for a historical building that is uniquely Edmonton to say I do" in!"

So... pretty much, I walked by McKay school on Saturday, July 2nd, at 5 am, and saw a boy's face in the window... I live in very close proximity and walk by the school every day; I've always expected to see a face in the window but it really freaked me out when I actually did see it today while least expecting it. Definitely haunted, would walk by again.

Well .. to start out.. Really cool fire escape on a fire escape back of the building. I would definitely suggest checking out if you're in the area and like smaller things of the same thing on bigger things of the same thing. Conveniently located downtown and also slightly creepy at night if you're into that kind of thing. Makes you really wonder what goes on in there at night.
