The Rope Loft
This place has amazing views and amazing food. A little breezy by the water. We ate our main course on their upper deck then they offered us inside dinning for coffee and dessert. I’ve tried a number of chowders and the chowder here was easily the best. Well worth the money, just LOADED with fish it was fantastic (I got the haddock chowder). The shrimp taco was also amazing. Other memebers of our party tried the pan seared halibut and seafood chowder. Everything looked and tasted amazing. This place did not disappoint. The waitress was also good and was filled with recommendations. The dessert we tried was an apple and blueberry crumble which I would also get again. Loved everything here. If you want to sit outside bring layers to stay warm but it’s worth it!

We had a very nice beet salad with a wide range of tasty ingredients. The halibut was served on a bed of risotto which was vegetarian. There was a nice selection of different local craft beers available. Service was pleasant and friendly. Relatively small number of vegetarian options but overall we enjoyed it and would be happy to go back next time we are in the area.

Great experience with good portions. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their food. The food was delicious and plentiful. Some advice, staff expressing their concern in their outside voice; makes a five star a three star. It took away from a great experience, hearing two servers, complain and worry about how their cash out. The atmosphere would have been awesome with a five star view of the harbour.June 23, 2019Went back for a second try and it was amazing. The desert and food was awesome.

Had the one piece haddock, nice portion, fish was just right, all food was excellent. Nice stop, nice ambiance. Parking a bit of an issue but well worth the food and vibe!

Quality service with a quaint touch of harbourfront views. Our server gave great recommendations!I had the black bean burger which was a 4/5 only be because I wasn’t a fan of the spicing in the patty but it’s very standard if you like that style veggie burger. The beet salad was great.My friend had pan fried haddock with the beet salad and both she said were simply delicious.We shared a side of onion rings and for dessert had the berry apple crumble with French vanilla ice cream and WOW, star of the show!Would recommend for a cute lunch spot in the Chester area.

My spouse and I thought we would go to a different town to enjoy a new menu. New menu yes...good food? No... we both had clubhouse sandwiches. im not sure if in the kitchen they were cooking" or "assembling" because the chicken and bacon tasted completely microwaved. Both plates the fries were cold. wouldn't go here again that's FOR SURE. 5 star price for half star food."

Service set to 3 stars is a bit of a misnomer... Service was good, food was great... We just had to wait 90 minutes or more when told the wait would be 20 minutes.Food was worth it... The rizotto was so good! Clubhouse was delicious and we all took down the chowder which may have been a shade on the fishy side, but still delectable.The fries were top drawer with with kids fish and chips and chicken strips.

Was here 8 years ago and had the chowder. Was so memorable I had to have it again. And they did NOT disappoint!!! Best I've ever had!!! Local employees were super delightful to chat with.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
