Just the Tonic Comedy Club

The comedians were really good, but the venue wasn't great. Rosies felt quite run down and there is a beam right in the middle of the stage. Drinks were expensive and they don't give you tables to sit round like you would expect, you just sit on rows of crammed together uncomfortable metal chairs. Glad we went as it was a good evening of entertainment but wouldn't rush back to this particular venue.

We had been given a comedy club voucher for two as a gift, so went online to book. It didn't give much choice for dates and we couldn't choose which club in our chosen city. Having an open mind we booked Birmingham. We got the tickets and found it was Just the Tonic Comedy club. On the night of going we walked past the building as it wasn't well signposted as being a room within a nightclub. At 6months pregnant, I wasn't really in the mood for a night club. Still up we went to the comedy room. We walked in and there were 3 long tables with people sitting all bunched together, there was no space between the tables for people in the middle to get up to walk past without someone having to squeeze in. Fortunately we were on the end and didn't have to worry about that. It seemed like an odd set up. While waiting for the comedy to start, the music was so loud I couldn't hear my husband sitting next to me.Everytime we went to the bar, the staff got out order wrong. After the first drink, where they gave my husband a bottle of coke without a straw or glass/cup to drink out of, I went over and asked, after getting a plastic black beaker and taking it back, we inspected it to find that it hadn't been washed and had something in the bottom of it.I took it back and got a clean one.I asked for a tap water with ice at that point as I didn't want hassle when asking for drinks. Although, my husband each time he went to the bar asked for red wine and was given rose. Not being bothered he didn't say anything and drank the rose anyway.For the comedy, it was OK.I wouldn't say any of the acts were particularly great. But I did laugh at some things so it wasn't completely wasted.Would I return here again, no not at all.Not a patch on other comedy clubs I've been to.

Never usually leave reviews, but all the overwhelmingly negative reviews prompted me to do so.Fantastic night of comedy. Started on time, plenty of seating, staff were polite and helpful. The temperature was warm but not stuffy, and the compere and other comedians were hilarious (obviously that's according to taste, but majority of the crowd were laughing). The only reason this wasn't a 5 star was due to the price of the drinks. Cost £11 for just 1 coke and 1 double dissarano and coke! Other than that, absolutely fantastic night. The bad reviews must have all come from the same poor night or something

Booked to see Milton Jones as he was the headline act.along with 2 other comedians.and compere.arrived on time front row seats.but thinking Milton Jones was going to do at least a hour only 20 mins gone off to do another gig.tgen a 15min break 2nd comedian 15 min break then final comedian.45,mins of break 60mins of comedy.compere was good topical.the club turns back into a nightclub after the show has finshed.

Comedians are very talented and funny but the venue is like an ice box couldn’t even take my coat off … felt like the one little monkeys who comes out of the freezer in jamanji when I left ….

Brilliant night, me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Starting off we were lucky to find the venue, unaware it was in Rosie’s night club but luckily walking past my partner looked in and said he’d recognised the wall paper from the pictures which was lucky! Went in was a little early so was lucky to get some really good seats. Air con was on too high and I found it was way too cold to take my coat off. Drinks were really over priced for the amount you receive. No other complaints, the host was great, possibly even funnier than the acts themselves, but we really enjoyed all 3 comedians, would definitely recommend!

Comedy was good. Managed to grab a table as the chairs looked cramped and too close together. Venue was quite cold. Table at the back spoke through the whole second half, security kept looking over at them but done nothing about it.

We have enjoyed the comedy show itself and the acts were funny. However, as mentioned in the other comments, the venue felt a bit ran down and the chairs that we were sat on were uncomfortable. They were also placed extremely close to the chair in front and it was difficult to get out of the row to get a drink.Overall I'd probably go again, but I'd prioritise other venues.

Really good night. Seats are uncomfortable, air con up too high and drinks are not cheap, but you're out for a laugh, so this ticks the boxes
