Dead Parrott Records

It's difficult to review this store because it's SO focused on vintage -- the friendly owner stocks minimal new vinyl purposely. His selection of 60s, 70s, 80s punk, rock and psych is unmatched with multiple cool pressings from Europe as well as some great jazz and other genres. His store is filled with amazing music memorabilia and he has a decent selection of CDs, cassettes and 45s as well. The conundrum becomes that the 90s is emerging as such a crucial musical decade that it's (almost) a necessity to stock those 90s titles and Dead Parrots doesn't carry them. As a vintage vinyl/crate digging store, this is a 5/5 of course but hoping that he brings in a mixture of modern vinyl as well as he buys collections.

Phenomenal service, the owner is an amazing guy not to mention the wide variety for such a small indie shop. This is also the ONLY place is Barrie where I can find cassette tapes

I take my son here on occasion and he always finds something to add to his over 300 record collection. Owner has a great relationship with his merchandise, he know the characteristics of everything in his store.

The owner knows his stuff & is happy to talk shop. Good quality used records, lots of classic rock and folk ++

Paul is awesome. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Could spend hours listening to his stories. Whenever I go in I always come out with something. Huge variety for such a small shop.
