Experience Comox Valley
The Comox Valley offers an enormous range of outdoor pursuits. Fishing, mountain biking, skiing and hiking. There are spectacular lakes, parks and historic caves (just south of Comox Valley is Horne Lake and Caves- co operated with the help of BC Parks. Napping is an option in some circumstances, but you may miss out. Cumberland offers world class mountain biking with eclectic independent restaurants, coffee shops and bicycle stores. Nanaimo is the last supercharger for northbound Tesla owners, but the Buckley Bay rest stop and charging station is being massively upgraded (supercharged you could almost say). The Tourism Information Centre at the turnoff to Courtenay/Comox has a single car charger with enough amperage to charge a cell phone. If you are going to spend 10 hours filling an EV here, you can at least stare at the decommissioned Snow Birds jet. Vancouver Island is the home of Broken Home Honey. This growing bee keeping coop is sweetening the pallet of Islanders while focussing on sustainable growth and consensual pollination.

Went there to purchase gifts to take home and very successful. Took selfie on ski lift chair Mount Washington being the back drop. How cool to see Snow Birds jet up close after watching them practise at the Comox Airport.Washrooms were spotless. The gentleman working there was friendly, helpful and informative..

Stopped in on way into Courtenay. You need to watch the sign as you need to double back parallel to the main road. Signage could be better given road is rated 80km , not a lot of time to grab your attention. I sometimes think signage in BC is for people who already know where they are going, not new people. In any event once there it's well laid out , nice small interactive display area for kids, lots of information brochures, clean washrooms and helpful staff. One suggestion is they might want to emulate US rest stops by providing vending machines to help combat road fatigue. All and all worth stopping.

Really pretty place. Would've been nice to see inside however they are closed on the weekends, weird. There isn't any bathroom facilities to use when closed as well.

The staff was really friendly and welcoming and helpful in answering all the questions. They were above and beyond in suggesting places and finding the right to go sources for different types of resources around the valley.

One of the nicest TI Centres I've been in. Well appointed, bright and the staff was super informative and helpful. Now that I know there is ' more to see I will go back with more time to browse the museum and shop in the giftstore.

A nice resting spot with nice clean bathrooms, friendly staff, picnic tables outside, a big gift shop, and lots of information about what to do around the Comox area. (Also an electric car charging point)Staff was amazing! They recommended the outdoor Comox Airport Museum and we loved it!
