Verdun Windows and Doors

Top quality service from Verdun. I am renovating my home as general contractor and hired Verdun to put in new patio doors, windows and other doors. This required new supports and lintels. Verdun's installer John was extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. He went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with all doors. The sales team, admin team and installation manager were all amazing and on the ball. 10/10 marks I would highly recommend them for a smooth experience.

First day of installation began on January 27, 2023. We are currently on June 27, 2023 and I still have not received my door and one window.-Day 1 of installation: Installers came to install my front door which should have been black inside and outside but unfortunately only the outside was black so Verdun had to send it back to their manufacturer in Montreal to have it painted. During the same installation they installed the windows of the three bedrooms. They also installed the garage bathroom window, but it was not frosted as requested twice to our sales rep and second Verdun employee who came to remesure.-Day 2 of installation: Large front window installed but the frame is very crooked which is manufacturing problem. Obviously no quality check perform before leaving the shop. House bathroom window and the two small living room windows install.-Day 3 of installation: Large living room window install. The thermos cracks. Red tuck tape is installed to prevent it from cracking even more. The next day my partner and I noticed that a lot of air was coming in from our new window. To the point of putting a tissue paper and it floating. I called Verdun who sent a service guy. This one changed the “seals” but I had to show him that the window once closed did not sealed properly. He had to remove the window frame and he noticed that there was plastic residue in the corner which was preventing the window from sealing properly. The finish of the exterior window remains as desired. Many cracks in the frame which over time, with the sun and the rain will need to be replaced.-Day 4 of installation / services: New thermos install for my living room window. The frosted thermos for the garage bathroom window was suppose to be installed but instead they had made a new frosted thermos for our house bathroom window which we did not request. He had to bring the window back. Front window was changed (the first was crooked) only to find that it was even more crooked than the first one. Entrance door was scheduled to be installed but the door did not have the right measurements (frame too small, door too high for the hole). At this time the installer called their supervisor who says he is going to order a new frame and that we are going to need to cut the top portion of the door and if I wanted a whole new door it could take up to a year to receive it. So 2 employees from Verdun came to take the measures and the 2 employees did not take the right measures and now we are the ones who are being penalized. Verdun sent another service guy to re-measure the door to see if it was Verdun that didn't take the correct measurements or if it was their door factory in Montreal. After more conversations ( I had to repeat myself several times to different receptionists) Verdun finally ordered a new door but I still don't have the ETA.Some office staff were helpful while others caused more frustration than anything else. Every time I called, I had to repeat my situation and several times there was information missing from my file. I tried several times to speak to a supervisor but without success. I was told that the sales supervisor was in Boston since Verdun is opening a new branch there and did not have time to talk to me. What is even more unfortunate in this situation is that no employee at Verdun takes the time to review client files. If they would have taken the time to review our file, they would have seen all the problems we have had since the beginning of the installation, which again was in no way the our fault .This experience caused us a lot of stress, I had to miss several days of work to accommodate the many days of installation and service appointments to repair their errors.We had an unpleasant experience with Verdun, this company shows a flagrant lack of internal communication. At no time have tried or made changes to better satisfy us and rather continued to offer us the same poor quality service. They offered us no relevant solutions in relation to the problems we had with them due to their mistakes.

Very pleased with the install of our new windows. Salesperson Andrew was very helpful and was always prompt in returning our calls. Good communication from Verdun on status of order. Installers Jamie and Kevin were awesome, they did a very professional job. Clean up after the job was better than I normally clean! (lol). The whole process was very smooth and the windows look great.Would definitely recommend Verdun.

We have been thoroughly disappointed with Verdun, especially their Customer Service. We ordered a Fiberglass door in Fall 2021 and were told we had our choice of colour and grain, however when the door was installed in Spring 2022 it was not the finish we had paid for, as per our contract. After multiple emails and phone calls we were told that this is what the manufacturer offers and this is what we get. So we're stuck with a $15K door that we did not order. The door has several flaws in the glass panels, in addition on cold days it allows ice and snow to form inside the house. While the Manufacturer (Mastergrain) is responsible for the product, Verdun has chosen to work with this company and should therefore be responsive to their client. Would not use or recommend Verdun.Carp, OntarioThank you for your response:Yes, we made you aware of the ice inside the door today and promptly received a Service call after I wrote my Google ReviewHowever, our outstanding concerns from Spring 2022 have not been addressed and we are still waiting for them to be fixed by your supplier, as promised last year. Our issue of paying for a door (colour and finish) that we did not order, still stands.

We were having problems with the lock on our front door so we scheduled a maintenance call with Verdun. Their technician Harrison arrived promptly as scheduled. He was pleasant, professional, knowledgeable, and well prepared. He applied a lubricant to the keyhole which seemed to fix the issue. But then he went above and beyond, suggesting that it still wasn't as smooth as he'd like; he quickly dismantled the lock, applied a lubricant to its inner-workings, and reinstalled it in approximately 3 minutes. The lock felt as good as new! When prompted, he took a look at our second exterior door, performed similar maintenance, and when it wasn't up to his standard, replaced the lock in a way that allowed us to keep our existing keys! What a champion! We could not have been any happier with Harrison's work and visit. If his actions reflect the standards of Verdun at large, we'd highly recommend them.

This was our 3rd time using and Verdun and again very great service from the sales team, to the follow up emails regarding our order to the installers (Alex). So impressed. Very happy with windows. The installers were very professional and knowledgeable and super hard workers. They did a great job. We would definitely use Verdun again.

Eric and Benjamin provided attention to detail and top notch work which not a common trait these days. We are so impressed and feel reassured that this install will be worry free for many years to come!

Following the efficient and expert installation of my new Verdun windows, an adjustment of a window screen was required. Benjamin (Benji) arrived with all the tools necessary to accomplish the task efficiently.Benjamin was diligent, thorough and very personable — he is a credit to the Verdun company and an excellent representative. He took the time required to ensure the screen was a proper fit; he also gave me a quick tour on proper screen removal (for when the time comes to clean my beautiful new Verdun windows). I’m so pleased with the service and installation. Thanks Benjamin!BTW: I would add a picture but the screen is virtually invisible. Hurrah!
