Island Veterinary Eye Specialist

This is a different review as I was a veterinary student shadowing Dr. Oshinchuk and her team. I had a wonderful 2-week experience when I was here. We saw a wide range of cases (medical and surgical) and Dr. Osinchuk gave me opportunities to be more hands on. The technician, Carolyn, was very experienced in ophthalmology and anesthesia. Both of them were very approachable and answered whatever question I had. I learned so much from them! I also enjoyed working with the other team members: Tara, Victoria, and Florence! Everyone was so nice and made me feel so welcomed. I highly recommend any veterinary/tech students to spend some time here to learn from them.

Hands down best vet clinic. They are spectacular and really care deeply about the animals in their care.

We came in for our dog’s sudden blindness. Dr. Stephanie Osinchuk did a thorough inspection and communicated the exact issue to us in a patient and caring manner. Stephanie sent us a follow-up email with notes on our dog’s condition(s) and treatment plan along with recommendations for helping her adjust to her conditions.Stephanie’s team (receptionist and vet assistant) were also lovely!As a bonus, the clinic has great decor :)

We are writing this review to share how totally pleased we are with the care everyone working at the Island Veterinary Eye Specialist has given our standard poodle, Bouton.In May 2022, Dr. Stephanie Osinchuk performed surgery on Bouton to remove a mass on her left upper eye lid and repair damage to her lower eyelid. We approached the necessary surgery with extreme trepidation because not only is Bouton thirteen, but also a few years ago she experienced a life threatening reaction to a pre surgery medication.Dr. Osinchuk took our concerns very seriously, carefully reviewed Bouton’s medical history and was even able to secure a veterinary anesthesiology specialist to also review Bouton’s medical history and “virtually” oversee Bouton's sedation during her eye surgery.Thankfully, Bouton’s eye surgery could not have gone better! She did not have a bad reaction to her sedation. She was calm, aware and functioning well when we picked her up a few hours after her surgery. Her eye recovered beautifully over about ten days.At this point, Bouton’s eye looks good and she is feeling so much better because she no longer has to cope with nagging eye irritation. We look forward to seeing Dr. Osinchuk, Carolyn, Paige and Florence at the Island Veterinary Eye Specialist when we return this fall for Bouton to have her six month eye checkup.Ralph, Sue and Bouton

I highly recommend Island Veterinary Eye Specialist. Dr. Osinchuk and her staff are very caring and professional. Everything was explained in detail before the surgery, as well as they kept me informed how Bella was doing the day of surgery. I had complete confidence that Bella was in great hands. We are so lucky to have Dr. Osinchuk and her team on the island!

My dog Louis had cataracts from birth and was virtually blind by 16 months old. After cataract surgery he is doing well and enjoying being able to see and fully participate in his world. Dr Osinchuck and her team were amazing and I would highly recommend them.

Couldn't be happier with the service we received. They preform medical miracles daily, my dog was fully blind and is now completely recovered.
