If you can't recycle it in your blue bin, you can recycle it here. They take pretty much anything... Batteries, electronics, styrofoam, glass and much more.

I'm glad we have the recycling centre and use it once a week or more. However, It took me years to get it that the flat tires I was getting were from driving into the NRC parking lot. The last flat tire had a pegboard hook in it and the guy who replaced it told me that they get tons of customers from that parking lot. Now I park on the street and walk in.

Easy access and they take just about anything. Bins are well marked but if your not sure where things go just ask. Staff very helpful.

Needs a make over. Getting in and out of the site is very difficult. Not as organized and convenient as it could be. Better signage would also help.

UPDATE: NRE IS NOW CLOSED.They take almost everything which is what recycling is all about!However, it is a private organization I believe largely supported by the city and this is obviously not a great model because the facility is dirty, very poorly maintained, and I suspect a little dangerous. I really like that they hire a huge variety of people some of whom would have difficulty finding work elsewhere. When it rains, the store has multiple buckets placed here and there to catch the rain drips coming in through the roof and much of the building has Tyvek as it's exterior cladding. When they put the Tyvek up a few years ago I thought, Wow

They do take most everything. The staff are a mixed bag, depends on who you talk to. On a rainy day it is a dirty, gross place. Your vehicle and shoes will attest.Have made several donations to their store, never once a Thank You.

I have always found the staff very helpful and the prices great!Yes as it is a recycling depot like any other place on the island it gets muddy when it rainsParking is sometimes hard to find because it's such an awesome resource and therefore quite busy

I appreciate being able to drop off all the metal, don't get me wrong. Parking is a bit of an unorganized grabastic mess. Employees are a bit, um, 'special'...not easily able to relate to the public with normal polite conversation. Odd place. Again, I'm grateful they accepted the safes.
