Chebucto Inn

Onsite restaurant serves a decent, standard low cost breakfast. Been twice and both times got what was expected, a typical “diner style” offering. Bathroom was located next to the front desk in the motel, could definitely use an update. Have never stayed at the property, only eaten at the restaurant.

Booked a week but left early. Toilet backed up and flooded room with sewage water. Management did not want to give us a different room. Told my 65 yr old disabled mother to “f- off” when she complained. Workmen dumped sewage water in parking lot and smoking area. Power failure lasting several hours finally made us decide to leave. Evidence of narcotics use around building. Some guests would urinate and vomit in parking lot every evening! Room was not as described… no microwave etc. Metal shards, nails and other dangerous items all around room entrance. This place is a health hazard! The manager was aggressive and foul-mouthed in every interaction I witnessed between my family or other guests.

Not the greatest location, but if you want an awesome breakfast this is the place! Good wholesome food at reasonable prices with great wait staff.

Had the fish for lunch, unbelievably small pieces, more like spring roll size and dry because of size. The waitress tried to make up for this by bringing an extra piece. Don't expect this in Halifax, very disappointed.

I was getting bit while laying in bed and then found a bed bug. I took a video and showed the front desk staff and politely asked if I could use their washer/change my room and he told me no. So now I am going to spend the night on the floor as I’m totally freaked out and have no other options after discovering what I found. I asked if he could call management and he said “only if the building is on fire.” ?!?! This room is not free!! I wasn’t even given an apology. The WORST absolute service I’ve ever had in my life. He didn’t care at all! Just sent me back to my bed bug infested room. I’m disgusted by the complete disregard of the staff after coming to him with my discovery, the inhospitality and the way he made it sound was that the management could care less as well. By the size of the one I caught under the blanket.. it’s been here for a while. Don’t come here.

I go here for the Cafe, breakfast in particular, very reasonable. Very friendly, and in my opinion one of the best breakfast in the city

Air conditioning was not functional, room was extremely hot. Very poor ventilation in bathroom. The window was very difficult to open and ended up with a crack on one side. We were charged $450 in extra fees for the crack in the window, and the detail on the invoice showed that they used this opportunity to significantly enhance the quality of the window. Sadly, we found the place and the people charming at first. Never again, would not recommend.
