I have been here several times and whenever I have friends visiting from the mainland I take them here. Amazing food, hospitality and views. The true gem of CBN!

Very upscale menu. Food was fantastic. Visited this Establishment with my parents. They were going to leave before ordering as they are very traditional and didn't know anything on the menu. I asked the staff if they could make some fish and chips and they said yes. I had the Dirty Rice and it was awesome. My parents really liked the fish and chips.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. It's located in the most beautifully scenic coastal village and we visited on a beautiful warm day. Dining at Grates Cove Studios was a unique experience in the best way. Atmosphere was warm. Hosts were excellent and accommodating. Food was AMAZING. Well worth the drive. Hope to go back again.

Had the pleasure of visiting again after several years. My wife and I shared the Korean pancake and I had the Gumbo while she had the Creole Calamari. Absolutely delicious, one of the best meals I've ever had.Great people running it, and they offer a lot of other experiences (tours, getaways, cooking lessons). If you are visiting Newfoundland you would be absolutely remiss to not check the Studio out.

Incredibly disappointed. We reserved 2 months ago and when we arrived we were told that they had set a table in the basement for us because they had booked a cooking class in the main restaurant. We felt totally mistreated and made it clear to them that this was how we felt. They were completely indifferent to our position . We will never go back to this restaurant. This is the only negative experience we have had while travelling in Newfoundland this past three weeks.

Our stay at Grates Cove Studios was absolutely perfect for our family trip. Courtney was amazing, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. We had everything we needed at the house, our view was spectacular, and the restaurant was sooo delicious!!! We will most definitely be returning one day!! Thank you for an incredibly memorable first trip to the East Coast, Grates Cove Studios!!!

We loved our stay at Grates Cove Studio. The house had everything we needed and more. The views from our bedroom and dining room were spectacular. The hosts were very helpful and friendly, and the food in their restaurant was delicious.

One of the best and most unexpected dining experiences I have had in Newfoundland. Beautifully presented tasty and creative Cajun-style food in a charming setting and served by the friendly (and fascinating!) proprietor. Definitely worth making the trip and they deliver to St John's too. Since reviewing I went back for a weekend break - their accommodation was comfortable and we tried out the seaweed bath and zodiac tours they organize which were great fun. They make you feel like family!

This Grates Cove establishment is outstanding. First, the fusion of the owners' Louisiana and Newfoundland heritages produces delicious food. The menu is innovative, and the Seafood Étouffée and Dirty Rice" checked all the boxes for us. Dining with an amazing view of the bay while learning about the area from the owners was certainly special. Open Studio is a culinary delight. Go there."
