The Magnolia Hotel & Spa

Very comfortable place to stay. Perfect location for visiting Victoria, as everything is within walking distance. Staff was incredibly helpful, courteous, and personable, to ensure our stay was the best possible. Room upgrade not necessary as the view is not what we were lead to believe.

Simply put, this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The front staff, room service and the experience were second to none. When we come back to visit the beautiful island, The Magnolia will always be our first choice.

The hotel rooms are larger than typical as it is an older building so naturally the layout is going to be larger than modern hotels. Overall, rooms are great especially with little touches like a nespresso machine and Dyson hair dryer. However, the service.. there is truly a difference between being “nice” and friendly. Staff are nice but not friendly, they HAVE to be nice to charge the ADR (room rate).. but they are not friendly to ask how you are doing or how was your stay or how was your day around the city. Essentially, they do not care if it is out of their job requirement when you request something. Also, there is an older gentleman with glasses and slick back hair and a ponytail, he definitely makes you feel out of place if you are non-white. I did not like that at all, hence an average rating.

Great place to stay in Victoria! Friendly staff, highly clean rooms and fancy toiletries! Bath robe is worth having, should have bought it. Very convenient location to walk around the town, places to visit. And they have a charging station for electric vehicles. I used paid valet parking.

Fantastic upscale hotel in Victoria downtown. The room was spotlessly clean, even though it was a dog friendly room. Everything inside the room just made sense from a large TV to Dyson hair dryer to some tea bags from a renowned Chinatown tea room. Location wise it was really easy to reach everything on foot. The valet and maid services were very efficient. It would have been even greater if there was a pool or sauna that we could use.

At first I thought people were asked to write reviews for some kind of discount for this hotel because I couldn’t believe all the five star reviews. I thought wrong! am voluntarily writing this review out of good will and because the hotel is wonderful. We just got back from staying at Four Seasons in Whistler and I can actually say that his hotel is even more comfortable than Four Seasons. It’s clean, rooms are big and comfortable, location is great and most of all, the staff are all genuinely nice. This must come from management so I can’t say enough good things for how this hotel is being managed. Love everything about it and so happy to be here. Five starts for sure!!! I will be recommending this place to anyone who is interested in coming to visit Victoria. The bar downstairs is also so lively! We have an eight year old with us and we all had a great experience with the staff for after dinner drinks.

We had a great stay at the Magnolia this weekend. From the valet to the front desk to the housekeepers to the restaurant, the service was excellent - very personable and attentive. Recently stayed at a Fairmont in Vancouver and the service was sub-par compared to the experience at the Magnolia. Will be our hotel of choice when visiting Victoria in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The ideal boutique hotel in Victoria. The location was perfect for walking or biking around town. My wife and I not had massages and found the therapists exceptional. The front desk was always there with a smile and ready to serve demeanor. Lovely hotel with lovely staff, and services.

Loved this hotel! Every little detail felt really thought thru to ensure guests felt pampered and relaxed. I usually don’t like to hang out in a hotel room but as it turned out, we did and it was great. The room felt so clean and fresh. All the amenities were available with quality products. Temp was perfect. The Magnolia is a boutique hotel so it is a smaller hotel but provides a lovely intimate oasis close to the Victoria Harbour where all the action is. The continental breakfast choices included with our stay were delicious. Smoked salmon, egg and pastry with fruit. Yes please. Would definitely go back for a return visit.

I cannot say enough good things about The Magnolia Hotel! I am a bit of a germaphobe and our room was extremely clean, spacious, quiet, and well-equipped (fluffy robes, Dyson brand hair dryer and all attachments, L'Occitane toiletries). The staff is exceptionally friendly and hospitable. The location is perfect, with most everywhere we wanted to see/visit/dine at within walking distance. The staff cleaned our room each day as a rule and provided fresh towels and face cloths more than once per day if we required, without us ever needing to ask. The nightly turn-down service with chocolates was such a lovely touch! We had our young daughter with us and she was treated with the utmost respect. This hotel provided excellent value and I would 100% recommend it over other luxury hotel brands.
