Huge store friendly staff. Love how they have separate sections for kids, paper, clothing etc

I have shopped here since it was a Chapters lo those many years ago. Used to love it, but over the past few years two major changes have made me hate, hate, HATE this store. One, for those folks who wished a bookstore wasn't so stocked with those icky things known as books

Very awkward encounter here recently... I purchased several books online for my kids. 2 of the books I purchased for my daughter she didn't want so we decided to head to our local store and exchange them. I got to the front counter and told the girl I wanted to return the books and pulled up my email to find my online sales confirmation. I showed the girl one of the emails I had received from Indigo that included an order number, she said that didn't help her.. that is NOT one of their order numbers. I said but this email is from Indigo and it says order number... is there something else I should be looking for in my email? She asked if I had searched INDIGO?!?! Really?I continued scrolling my emails and what appeared to be a manager walked over and stood and watched me... I muttered I can't seem to find the payment receipt email... they both stood silently watching me … I looked up and said well I can't seem to find it, we are buying more books so a gift card would do. the manager asked how I paid for the online order, I said debit/visa she said nothing... so I kept scrolling my emails looking for what they needed.. both just STOOD THERE watching me sweat.... I showed the SAME original email i had pulled up and said 'this says order number, I don't understand why this number doesn't work for you?' the 'manager' said that must have been when the systems went down..?!?! and they were giving out temp order numbers... Do you THINK she might have started with that the FIRST time I showed the order number?!?! this entire interaction was now over 20mins and she said she can not use that order number and therefore can not give me the money back on my debit/visa.. and handed me $20.00 CASH EVEN.. I guess I don't get taxes back when doing returns?!?! Said NOTHING to me... as I stood there with my 2 kids.. this was a very awkward and uncomfortable encounter and it is honestly why I DO NOT return ANYTHING!!! I honestly felt like they didn't believe I purchased the books... I was SO embarrassed. Ugh!I was inclined to walk out but my daughter had her heart set on choose 2 new books.. we ended up spending $80.00 !

Obviously there's a great selection of books! Friendly staff. Very busy during the holidays, but the long lines moved quickly. A gorgeous woman rang my items through and she was professional and courteous.

Like the place was not have many books that I wanted. Everything was mostly sold out but very very good place. Love it and stuff Very friendly.

I love to read and one of my favorite things to do is to come here and spend sooo much time going through all the sci-fi books to find some great reads. Plus the employees there are really great, super helpful, and it's always sparkling clean in there.

I was going to buy quite a bit but was turned off because I was being followed around and told probably 5 times (15 minutes before closing) that they close at 6 which I was well aware of after the first 4 times this employee told me. I put down what I was going to purchase and left.

The whole plaza is an experience,enjoyed walking around and exploring for about 3 hrs. Our first visit.

Jojo was amazing. She took time to answer my silly questions and made me realize when I bought stuff online, I was never collecting points. She helped me with the Plum account process right away. Much appreciated for the time she took to assist me.

I was in line this evening served by one associate.Along comes another associate who readily served the family in front,till he received a call on his head set and without excusing himself decided to walk off.When I addressed him he pointed to the other associate who was busy with that one customer.I walked off too and called customer service line no answer for 5 minutes.Overall very poor customer service.I have shopped at Indigo for the past few years and feel this a slap in my face.
