Really good environment, friendly staff. Never really had a bad experience at this pet store. My only negatives with this store is that it seems a little bit over priced compared to the rest of the other pet stores and sometimes they do run out of products that they shouldn’t be. But overall it’s in a good location. Seems to be about ten dollars higher then the other stores.

IF YOU'RE A FEMALE, STAY AWAY FROM HERE.What started as a great set of experiences for myself turned into a horror-show of mansplaining and profoundly terrible customer service for my wife.After loyally going to this store with our new puppy from 8 weeks of age, around the 14 week mark (and figuring we would go here essentially for the life of our time in Red Deer), my wife had the ultimate displeasure of meeting and being 'helped' by the male co-owner of this location. During this visit, she attempted to ask for advice on food, as our puppy had just been to the credentialed Vet recommended a change in diet.This unfortunate man had the gall to insist that we couldn't possibly receive an in-store credit (also known to almost anyone in the customer service industry as a gift card, gift certificate, refund), because their system can't do in-store credit. [for those wondering, I did check their return/exchange policy the night before, to ensure that she should have a smooth experience with the process.) After insisting that she would HAVE to take product in exchange now or lose the value of the returned-bag, my wife worked with what he was offering as best as she could, and ended up receiving 2 smaller bags of a different brand of dog food. This was a 20 minute process because the co-owner had no clue what stock they had, and was of dubious help, proclaiming the entire time the ideas that, Food is food

They rush you when you’re bathing your dog. I was nine months pregnant trying to wash my dog, was not even there fifteen minutes when the staff asked if I was almost done because someone else wanted to use the dog wash. They Clean litter boxes in the dog baths which is extremely unsanitary and the shampoo and conditioners are always empty and filled with water. Save your money and don’t waste your time going here.Edited to say I did email the company and did not get an apology or resolution, rather told there was nothing that could be done about my concerns.

I go to this store regularly. I love the staff. They are great and i love the store has everything I mostly need at better prices.

Went into this location for the first time a few days ago. There were 3 ladies working and not 1 of them offered any customer service. We were looking for 2 harnesses, leashes, large breed puppy food, toys and all natural chews. We found the chews we wanted after wandering the store and the young lady who came to the till was very friendly but we will be going to a different store for all the other items we need for our 2 new puppies. We’ve always been loyal Pet Valu customers and were very disappointed with this locations lack of customer service.

Such friendly, helpful staff! My little dog marked the store a couple times, and they were fine with it, and so kind. I offered to clean it, but they laughed and were right on it. The groomer is awesome and did his nails without issue. He usually doesn't like it. She was very knowledgable and so professional!! Will definitely be back!

Unfortunately we didn't have the friendliest service the other day when we went in to wash our dog..in fact we had no one even acknowledge my husband or I when we walked in (even though there was someone working at the front desk) .This was our first time coming in for the wash bay..we figured it out cleaned up our area..waited at the til to be helped..again not acknowledged..then what's your phone number?"I'm not asking for much but typically when someone comes into your place of business a "Hello" or is "there anything we can help you with?" And maybe a "have a nice day" should be part of your customer service! Disappointed..and we won't be returning...unfortunately we had heard this from someone else prior..but thought we would try it anyways. OUR MISTAKE!!"

I went in the store. Looked around. Couldn't find what I was looking for. The lady employee was playing with the bird. I asked her if they carried a specific product and the response I got was, Only if she ordered it." Then she went back to playing with the bird and ignored me so I left and ordered it on Amazon.I assume the 'she' the employee referred to is the boss or manager or owner... Complete failure in customer service. I knew I could get it on Amazon but I was shopping in my neighborhood and tried to shop local for my herd of pets... I won't make that mistake again. What horrible customer service. That lady has been working there for years."

I always do online order and never had any problems with the items i recieve.
