Luis has been making my shoes and orthotics for many years! Without the shoes I would have chronic back pain. The reason for the custom made shoes and orthotics is that I had polio as an infant. Sometimes after making the shoes it has been necessary for Luis to make further adjustments, which he patiently does. Whilst he takes his time making the shoes and orthotics he is also taking his time to get them correct. Graçias amigo!

The owner might be very skilled at repairing shoes, but he was never able to have my shoes ready for pickup when he said that they would be ready. That is, every time that I had my shoes repaired at this shoe repair place I always had to return a second or even a third time, and usually at least a week or two later, since my shoes were never ready when the owner originally said that they would be ready for pickup. As well, on one occasion I asked the owner to replace the insulation inside a pair of winter boots, but despite doing a good job of replacing the insulation inside my winter boots, he did not completely re-stitch part of each boot after opening them up in order to replace the insulation. Moreover, when I returned to his shoe repair store to have my winter boots re-stitched that he had opened in order to replace the insulation, the owner wanted to charge me $30 for the re-stitching. I decided to take my winter boots to another shoe repair, and for $10 the other shoe repair place re-stitched my winter boots.

Luis is a very kind man who works hard and at a great price. I was so happy to find him, since I wanted to make sure whoever replaced the insides of my Stuart Weitzman boots knew what they were doing since they're my favorite shoes. Not only did he replace them quickly and easily, he was a pleasure to communicate with. I went to several shoe stores in the area before going to him (I wanted to make sure that my shoes were in good hands) and no one is better in the Midtown area. Highly recommend 10/10 for shoes, belts, bags of any kind.

I have had success with Remonte and Rieker brands.Luis has made me other custom orthotics for my stylish booties and dressy long boots (with inside bottom zippers), and for my running shoes. I have been coming to Luis for all types of work on shoes, leather, and even recently a jacket zipper. While other reviews are true that the work is sometimes late, you cannot rush perfection. I only have good things to say about the quality of the work, and how he can pull off things that other shoe repair guys can't. I'm proud to give a five-star review, both for quality of work, and for quality of conversation every time I come in!

Luis does excellent work. I needed my leather jacket re-polished, and removed all the old polish and put on a new coat of polish. It feels soft and it looks great. I also had a pair of leather shoes that needed new glue around the sole, and he really-glued it and polished the shoes. His work was quick and top-notch. I highly recommend him to anyone needing work done on leather.

Luis replaced the heels on some well-loved ankle boots and they look amazing! He did it in less than a week, and fixed up some scuffs at no charge. They practically look brand new and the price is extremely reasonable. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be coming back for all future shoe repairs.
