Oastler Lake Provincial Park
This site we got 113 was NOT what o was expecting. This one along with the ones next to it aren't nice unless you wanna be 3 feet apart from your neighbors. And lack of trees or privacy. But the Lake is amazing. Kids loved the deepness of the water and swimming off many locations. Small walkable campground. Washrooms weren't cleaned enough but ok. Train is hard to get used to but kids thought it was cool to see. We may return but it's for the lake use only and definitely never camp at lot 113.

Choo Choo!!!A train runs next to the park on the hour. Ridiculously loud and they like to honk several times as they pass. It's a small park with 200+ sites, and they are built such that most sites have a gorgeous view of the lake or are built on the perimeter of the lake. If not for the train I would have given this place a 4 star. The water is great. There were no flies on the weekend of June 14th or Aug 22nd. Huge plus. On the negative side, the place was infested with gazillion caterpillars on the June 14th weekend. It was, quite literally, raining caterpillars. Aug 22nd weekend though the caterpillars have vanished.Another con is that the toilets seem nasty at any time of the day. Either people have forgotten how to flush and/or pee hygenically or the flush are not strong enough. Please fix.

This place was great to visit but I'll never book here again. They should put in a big sign that trains pass and honk at all hours (even all throughout the night) and that the sites are very small. But the beach access and the facilities are very short walks and the water is beautiful here. If you're a light sleeper, I don't recommend this place.

Oastler Lake Provincial Park
I give this place a 2 star. Honestly, this campsite is quite nice, generally speaking. Campsites are placed near the water, the beach, washrooms, showers are all easily accessible. The views of the lake are breathtaking. The only reason why this place gets a low score is because across the lake, there is a major road and a train line. During all hours of the day, you will constantly hear cars & trucks drive by. From approximately 6-7am to 1:30am, you will also constantly hear trains and every train that crosses through the line honks and is obnoxiously loud. Don’t expect to get too much sleep here.

Nice small park. Fairly clean beach and clean facilities. Railroad nearby has trains going quite frequently day and night. The noise is not so bad in an RV but I would imagine it's very loud for tent camping. Large town (Parry Sound) 5 minutes away. Lots of shops and restaurants. Fire ban in effect but propane firepit is allowed.

Had a great Canada day long weekend here. Small and older park, but the lake was perfect for getting out to paddle on. Facilities were kept very clean. After the first night we did not even hear the train.

A Breathtaking Retreat: Discovering the Unparalleled Beauty of the CampsiteReview:Nestled amidst nature's pristine embrace, the campsite I recently visited was an absolute feast for the senses. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the sheer beauty that surrounded me, leaving an indelible impression on my heart and mind.As I embarked on a leisurely stroll through the campsite, I found myself immersed in a symphony of natural wonders. Towering trees swayed gently in the breeze, their emerald canopies providing a soothing shade that created a tranquil ambiance. Sunlight filtered through the foliage, casting enchanting dappled patterns on the forest floor, adding an ethereal touch to the scenery.Throughout the day, the campsite continued to unveil its remarkable beauty. In the morning, as the sun's golden rays pierced through the horizon, painting the sky with hues of pink and orange, the landscape transformed into a breathtaking panorama of colors. Birds serenaded the awakening wilderness with their melodious songs, creating a harmonious atmosphere that filled my soul with joy.As dusk settled in, the campsite took on an entirely new persona. The sky transformed into a tapestry of vibrant hues, as the sun bid farewell, casting its final warm glow before surrendering to the darkness. The campfire crackled and danced, casting flickering shadows on the surrounding trees, creating an enchanting ambiance that made storytelling around the fire an unforgettable experience. The campsite's beauty extended beyond its natural wonders. The well-maintained trails invited me to explore further, leading me to hidden gems such as serene lakes and charming meadows adorned with wildflowers. The peacefulness of these spots provided ample opportunities for introspection and connection with nature, allowing me to find solace and rejuvenation. In conclusion, the campsite I had the privilege to visit was a true haven of beauty. Its awe-inspiring landscapes, captivating vistas, and harmonious ambiance made it an unforgettable getaway. Whether you're seeking solace, adventure, or simply a place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this campsite promises an unparalleled experience that will leave you mesmerized by the wonders of nature.

Attention: As of June 4, 2023 there is currently a fire ban at Oastler Lake Provincial ParkSpent a short time at this park this past weekend. One of the smaller Provincial Parks I've been to. That said, Oastler Lake itself was a decent size and the water was clean to swim in. I talked to a few people who were fishing who said some Bass and Pike were caught but other park regulars claim there's not a lot of good fishing left at Oastler.Point Campground is radio free with multiple non electrical camp sites for tents only. The sites on north side (200-204) have some beautiful sunset views and the waterfront right in front of the site.Sites in Riverside and Hardwood Hills are close to the dog beach and a short walk to comfort station w/showers and vault toilet which are flush able toilets so no stink with a sink and paper towels...PSA...people please be respectful of other campers. You want a clean toilet when you go in so do the same for others!! That means don't pee everywhere, flush the toilet, make sure your toilet paper/paper towels, etc all find their way INTO the garbage. Not on the floor or left on the toilet seat please. If everyone treated these stations like their own toilet, everyone would appreciate it and have a more comfortable feeling and experience :-)All the campsites in this area had some decent privacy with tall trees on either side and water taps a short walk.Only reason I didn't give this review a 5 star was because there was a alot of growth on some sites. I started to wonder if the parks staff is not cutting the grass on the sites that aren't booked. Also saw a few sites where I had those people tell me they wished the grass on their site was cut. Overall a good time had considering there were no campfires. I like to check out different Provincial Parks so it'll be a while before I come back but I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't been here yet.

Beautiful views and campsites, not as far a drive as some other parks from the GTA, but the trains hoot and holler all night long. Make sure you're extra tired or have ear plugs if you think that will bother you.
