Tacos were small and tastelessServed us our food once and never came back to check on us for further needs forgot to get us our drinksGot ignored after showing hand signs that we needed her assistanceThe food and experience wasn’t worth the price the only reason this place is highly rated it’s because it’s in a white neighborhood and they don’t know real and authentic Mexican food. Never intend on coming here again.Only positive was the decor and music.

I absolutely love Mona's it's decently priced, staff is super friendly, and the food is exceptionally delicious. My most favorite dish is the tacos al pastor because they are super flavourful and not spicy like most other places can be. I've brought friends and family to try Mona's and they too love it.

Tacos were phenomenal! Ordered chicken, carnitas, chorizo, all were incredible. Hot sauce was also really good !! Only thing I’d say is the service was non existent, didn’t ask if we wanted drinks and by the time he came with our tacos we had to get going quick ( from out of town and stopped in for a quick bite ) . No plates, no napkins, no check ins, flagged him down to ask for the bill and again, nothing. Had to just leave cash on the table and leave as we were short in time.Tacos = amazing tons of flavour and proper tacos !Service = I mean at that point just don’t have servers, could have made at least another $50 on our bill if we had proper service (drinks, more food, etc)Would return for the food

Mona’s was an unexpected delight! We popped in originally to grab some tacos but both felt the burrito bowls looked too good to pass up! The guacamole, beans, and chips were show stealers which says a lot considering the entire dish was so delicious. We will be coming back!

Finally ethnic Mexican food and that south of the US boarder vibe. Felt like we were on vacation. We were thrilled with the atmosphere, friendly service and quality of the food. It was delicious. The margarita are a killer. So good." They also have a market store for all your Mexican make at home dishes for ingredients you can't find at your local grocery store."

Definitely take advantage of their weekly deals! My partner and I came for the 4/10$ tacos. I really enjoyed the chicken tacos but the beef was less flavourful. The toppings were nice and their green sauce was super fresh. We didn’t have anyone come to check on us for over 30 minutes when I wanted water and the bill… aside from that the food is good!

On the weekend, they throw a little fun party, latina DJ and dancing even sometimes karaoke is included. I had burrito bowl (without rice cuz i eas on a low carb diet) and it was ok. Give it a try it's fun.

We tried Mona’s for the first time this afternoon and it was absolutely delicious! It was awesome to discover great, authentic Mexican food - particularly street food - here in Ottawa. Great vibe and service as well! We will definitely be back. Thank you guys!

My friends & I went on a taco tour recently and made sure to stop at Mona’s.We got lucky and they were able to accommodate six of us with no reservation. They were very busy with only two staff working the front of house, so the service to receive our drinks was slow (which was expected) but the kitchen was very quick.I have a gluten + dairy allergy, the staff were very accommodating. We got the pastor and the mushroom, I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the mushroom taco was. Margarita was tasty and strong.Would definitely go back and try their other flavours & guac.

Absolutely never again. I am Mexican myself and this food does not represent the true culinary essence. This was a disgrace. I ordered two kinds of tacos and both were bland and soulless. The customer service was poor. A group of customers set their own heat lamp outside, the workers inside noticed and did not tend to them. The atmosphere and music were nice what a shame the food did not live up to the rest. Do not waste your money here.
