Merriam music is a great learning centre. My children have excelled in their piano studies and we thank the incredible staff that have helped them.My son is in private piano lessons with Collin. Collin is patient, knowledgeable and really helpful as my son prepares for his RCM grade 5 exam this summer.Thank you Merriam Music for instilling a knowledge and passion for music in my children and our family!

My son has been taking group piano lessons with Merriam from last 4 years. He is learning from the same teacher - Ms.Alana from last 2 years.Ms.Alana is an exceptional piano teacher who excels in communication, technical expertise, musicality, and patience. She is able to explain complex concepts clearly and provide helpful guidance to her students. Her attention to detail and understanding of piano technique is impressive, and her students consistently show improvement under her guidance. She has a great sense of musicality, teaching her students to express the emotional content of the music. Most importantly, Alana is an incredibly patient teacher who is willing to take the time to help her students understand difficult concepts. She creates a warm and supportive learning environment. Overall, I highly recommend Ms.Alana as a piano teacher and give her a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

I was told the best age to learn piano is after year 6, but my experience with Merriam changed that thought. The group lesson for 5 year old children we attended was taught by Alana Merriam. She is super passionate about music and very gracious and kind with kids. (btw she is an elegant lady with a good fashion taste =) Her class is always filled with laughter from the games the kids played. She is strict with what she teaches yet encouraging when the children cannot perform perfectly. To wrap up in one sentence --- Alana is an amazing teacher that you won't want your kiddo to miss, even not for piano, just the fun!

Both my kids have been going to solo piano lessons at Merriam school of music with Mr Collin Makariak for more than a year now. Collin has been patient , kind and supportive of both my kids learning and he adjusts to their individual styles of learning. My kids have thrived under his guidance and look forward to go to their piano classes every week. Thank you Collin for being an amazing teacher for my kids.

My daughters have been doing piano here for over 5 years. We are very helpful with their professionalism and quality. Ms. Alana is one of their favorite teachers. She is very kind, accommodating and encouraging. My girls' love for piano is largely due to Merriam School of Music and Ms. Alana. Highly recommend this music school to everyone.

I did my RCM lessons here many moons ago, so choosing Merriam for my kids was an easy choice. My older one has been with Alana Merriam's group class for the last year and it's been an amazing experience for her. My daughter also appreciates the monthly sign-up recital opportunities and the yearly Groupfest performance arranged by the school, which allows her to gain confidence performing in front of large groups of audiences.Overall, I would highly recommend Merriam School of Music to anyone looking to pursue their passion for music. My 4 years old son has been attending the piano group class for 6 months now and he loves it. He is thrilled and really likes his teacher Ms Alana.The curriculum is awesome and he is learning so much. We wish it was more than once a week.My son's teacher is a very passionate and patient person. She is great with young kids and constantly encouraging her students.I strongly recommend the group class at Merriam School of music, you won't regret it.

Bought a piano and my son is taking lessons here. We are enjoying lessons with Ms Alana Merriam very much. She is strict, yet friendly, encouraging, edifying, composed and organised. Love that she helps students to excel in the manner a piano piece should be played than just being able to play it. Brian was very knowledgeable and was able to recommend an upright piano that exactly suits our needs. The school also offer monthly and periodic opportunities for students to perform on stage.Will really appreciate though if the school allows group students to attend make up lessons when they are unable to attend their regular lesson.

My girls go to the Merriam School of Music for the last couple years. The group piano teachers are absolutely fantastic. The group setting makes the kids learn music theory in a fun and energetic way. Their teacher Alana Merriam knows how to engage kids and keep them challenge to try new things. There are monthly sign up recital to help my girls to get over stage fright. We have amazing experience at Merriam. Let the music journey begin here!
