Hertz Car Rental - Halifax International Airport

I didn't catch the name of the agent but she worked the night shift of Sunday, 26 Feb. My flight was delayed, and she kept the kiosk open an hour later than normal hours to ensure that multiple customers received their vehicles. Despite having to stay late, she provided outstanding customer service and saved the day for me and many others. Her dedication reflects extremely positively on her company.

We had a nice experience with Hertz Car Rental. Drop off when smoothly.Observation, still has a lot of cars without GPS in Moncton airport.Staff, was super helpful. We met a very nice guy at the collection point in Moncton Airport.

Honestly I did loose all faith in this place last time I visited which was just over a year ago… I decided hey let’s give it another try and it’s really the only place open till the wee hours of the morning. To my surprise I met Nancy who was actually amazing and more helpful than anyone has to be in this position. She went above and beyond to make my experience simple and satisfying. In my personal opinion she should be a manager at this location! She also told me she’s been there 10 months and still has not received her business cards!! Hertz as a company has definitely gone down hill a bit but with people like Nancy behind the counter they stand a chance…Get this amazing lady some business cards!!!!! Thanks Nancy your the best.

Nancy was amazing. We needed to rent a car last minute and Nancy was super professional and friendly to send us on our way. Since we were travelling with two kids she took the time to answer our questions and to ensure we felt safe with the rental. As Nancy promised, the van was amazing to drive and well maintained. I would 100% rent from Hertz again knowing they maintain their fleets well and if all their agents were as competent and personable as Nancy. Thank you again!

Really fantastic representation for Hertz. The location has a very curtailed Hertz Gold presence but the staff are fantastic. On a recent trip, short-staffed, the hardworking staff had no spare employees to handle the Gold line (YHZ has no walk to your car Gold board service) but was super proactive in recognizing a Gold Plus member having to wait 10 minutes and dealt with the situation in the highest degree. Top notch!

By far the worst car rental experience of my life. I got a massive discount from my airlines for my hertz rental and the lady at the desk just couldn't understand the terms so she couldn't release the vehicle to me. I had to call hertz myself and talk to them for 2 hours to resolve the situation between the in-efficiencies of their systems. Rather than her doing it I had to do it myself. It's so frustrating dealing with her lack of understanding of the system.

Booked a car through priceline and upon arriving at this location I was told that they could not give me the vehicle that i already PAID for because i have an “N” driver license, despite me renting cars from this hertz location as well as others in the past, namely one month ago at this same location. The person i initially dealt with at the front counter was quite rude and dismissive, and literally didn’t give me more than 15 seconds of his time before turning away from and ignoring me. I called hertz customer service and spoke with a representative as well as looked at the hertz website which just states that renters require a “valid drivers license” which i do have. Further clarified with customer service over the phone who stated that an N drivers license is a valid drivers license. If this is actually a policy it would be on the website or customer service would know. Anyways spent 4 hours dealing with this when i was supposed to be enjoying my trip. Definitely not using hertz again, especially not from THIS location.

Great picking up my vehicle.No customer service after rental over. Although Hertz sent Survey immediately, 5 days later, I have yet to receive final invoice or notification that the hold on my credit card has been released. My call to on site customer service not responded to in 4 days. I don't rent cars often. Maybe that's 'normal'?My previous Hertz rental was in the States. Within 2 hours of returning my rental vehicle, Hertz had emailed final invoice and released the hold on my credit card.

Upon arriving at the airport, the requested SUV was unavailable. After half an hour of wait the only option presented to me was to pay an additional $65 per day to upgrade to an available vehicle. The agent who handled my car reservation informed me that there would be a $1100 drop fee since I wasn't returning the car to Halifax. However, they assured me that if I returned it to their location, the drop fee would be waived. In light of this information, I decided to change my flight and paid the price difference to fly out from Halifax instead of PEI YYG.To my dismay, when I returned the car and handed over the keys, I was informed that the drop fee had already been incorporated into my rental rate as per the contract terms. They regretfully stated that they were unable to make any adjustments. Consequently, I ended up paying more than double for the car rental. This experience was highly disappointing, and as a result, I have no intention of renting a car from Hertz again. Furthermore, I cannot recommend Hertz as a rental option to others.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Hertz, and I cannot in good conscience recommend them for car rentals. To my surprise, Hertz decided to charge me an exorbitant fee for this minimal delay (1/3 of the whole day charge), which unreasonable and unfair.As a loyal customer who has chosen Hertz for several rentals, I had expected better treatment and understanding from the company. However, their response was unsympathetic and lacked empathy. While they emphasized the importance of returning cars on time for cleaning and preparation, the short delay would not have had a significant impact on their operations. Moreover, the car remained idle for some time after I returned it, indicating that it did not disrupt their cleaning service or inconvenience the next user.When I reached out to them seeking a fair resolution and reconsideration of the excessive charge, I encountered resistance. Despite my loyalty, the offered compensation was insufficient and did not adequately address the frustration and inconvenience I experienced.Hertz's lack of willingness to accommodate a customer's minor delay, coupled with their unsatisfactory response, reflects their lack of customer-centricity and compassion. This unfortunate experience has left me dissatisfied, and I will certainly think twice before considering Hertz for future car rentals.I strongly advise against renting a car from Hertz. Their disappointing approach towards customers is concerning, and there are numerous other car rental companies that prioritize customer satisfaction and treat their customers with respect and understanding. Spare yourself the disappointment and frustration—explore alternative options for your car rental needs.
