Rugged Beauty Boat Tours
Went out today with family (mother in - law, and children 7 and 9). Tour is about 3 hours and includes a stop in operators Private cabin in abandoned community. Many great stories and information on the history of the area as well as cod fishing. Not geared for younger kids necessarily but our kids enjoyed (we saw an Iceberg (growler at that stage) up close, whales and a number of Bald Eagles and learned about fishing that was good for them). With max of 12 (9 on our trip including us) and 3 hour tour including tea a very personalized and unique experience! I have photos on an old camera will hope to add one later.

Awesome tour to take of you get the chance. Bruce was a great tour guide on the boat. Took us to lots of different coves and explain and showed us what they look like today compatible to photos of the past. Did some cod jigging on the way back and managed to land 15 cod in less.than 30 minutes. Highly recommended.

Bruce took us on a hugely enjoyable voyage, not just around this stunning coast but into the lives of the people who lived and fished here. We had time ashore for tea and local partridgeberry jam in his British Harbour cabin where he brought alive the story of the fishing communities. Many thanks indeed for a highlight of our stay in Newfoundland.

Had an amazing tour of some of the coastal areas and abandoned settlements with Bruce, who shared stories about coastal communities throughout the trip. The tour took us on a beautiful scenic route, ending with some tea, hot chocolate and crackers at a cabin, before returning!

Bruce does a wonderful job of telling the stories of resettlement on the Newfoundland coast during the 1960s. The tour begins with a presentation about the traditional in-shore cod fishery from catch to market.

We had a great time with Bruce on this tour. If you could imagine meeting a local in a bar, and then having them give you a personal tour of their region the next day, this is like the tour. Add into that some great history about cod fishing in the area, it’s a great authentic experience that I would highly recommend

Great experience. Bruce gives a great account of how life was before confederation and how things have changed. The boat ride, the break and the stories are well worth the ride out to Bonaventure. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Bring some warm clothes! Thanks Bruce!
