A rescue that goes above and beyond for the dogs in its care. I’ve seen first hand how dedicated their volunteers are to find the best homes for these dogs.Thank you Halfway Home for everything you do to save these animals. Just an amazing organization.

Went through the process of adopting a dog, had our interview which went well. Then we were told that they would call our references and they didn't bother. Said the dog was being given to a family that was a better fit with no other explanation. We asked about other potential dogs and never heard back. 2 weeks later and the dog is still listed on the site and hasn't been adopted yet. Very sad and frusterated when we were hoping to help a dog who needed a loving home and find our new family member. Wouldn't recommend this agency.To add to your response below, there is no need to save public embarrassment as I have nothing to be embarrassed by. You are not able to provide proof that you spoke to my references as well as I have email records that show no further details about the process beyond another family being suited. It is a shame that you didn't feel we were suited especially given the dog didn't end up being adopted by the other family. You wished us luck in finding our new family member and we have had it with a better agency. I hope no one else suffers the same disappointment.

We have had the privilege of fostering two dogs for Halfway Home K9 Rescue. Our first foster was sadly palliative upon arrival (unbeknownst to the rescue), we, together with the rescue ensured our Sweet Annie was loved and had the best care provided to her prior to her passing last August. Approximately a week later we were contacted by Caitlin again to ask if we were interested in fostering another pup, of course we said yes." We then welcomed Cooper into our home. Cooper became our "foster fail." We are so grateful to the team at Halfway Home K9 Rescue for bringing Cooper into our home.Rescuing dogs is not for the faint of heart

We had a wonderful experience with Halfway Home K9 Rescue! They were quick to respond to our application (which was not the case for other rescues) and quick to call references and set up the interview. Sarah was fostering our girl, Cedar, and was very knowledgeable and super pleasant to work with! You can tell she is a huge dog lover and wants what is best for those she fosters! Cedar has settled in quite well and is an all around amazing pup! We are so thankful for Halfway Home for rescuing Cedar (among many other dogs) and choosing us to be her family!! Definitely recommend :)

I joined this amazing rescue as a volunteer a couple of months ago. These ladies do AMAZING work to save lives everyday! We found our beloved Nala by first fostering her through this rescue! I am so happy to be a part of this amazing team of people who work tirelessly daily!

I’ve fostered dogs with this organization for 4 months. The team are truly invested in the well-being of the dogs that they rescue and ensure they are matched perfectly to their adopters. This has been such a great experience for my family and I would encourage anyone to apply and adopt from this rescue.

We adopted a beautiful pup, Clover (now Lola) from Halfway Home K9 Rescue. Sarah the foster parent was great, really easy to communicate with and the whole process went smoothly. We love our new addition!!

We adopted a puppy from K9 Halfway Home in March 2022. We had a great experience from start to finish. They replied to our initial inquiry within a few days, and the adoption process was thorough but efficient. I’m glad they take the time to make sure each placement is a good fit. Our pup Sam obviously had an excellent foster experience as she was well used to other animals, young kids and had a good start on some of her training. They also emailed us after the adoption to make sure Sam was getting on well, and were immediately responsive to any follow up questions we had. I would have no reservations in recommending K9 Halfway Home.

I have been fostering for Halfway Home K9 Rescue since September 2021, so for 8 months as of this time. The rescue has been amazing to work with, speedy to deal with any issues I may have as a foster, and has always been very supportive and helpful! It has been a great experience and I will be continuing fostering for a long time to come! Highly recommend!
