Lawrence did a home inspection for us recently in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and we had thought we had known the main issues with the home. His skill and knowledge during the inspection brought out a few surprises (even to the homeowner) and as a result we re-offered at a lower price.The investment in the inspection (under $500 ) saved us over $7,500 on the price of the home.We have bought 6 homes prior to this one and I will say Lawrence Englehart was the most skilled of all the Home Inspection Services we used (in two provinces and 3 cities). Lawrence performed an inspection for me on a house in Lower Sackville in January 2014. He arrived early, and performed the inspection in the amount of time he said it would take. He was thorough with the results, as most inspectors are likely to be.What impressed me about his services was the clarity in the communication about the inspection. He is able to break the details down in a clear form for a novice. He is friendly and personable, which made the entire process so fluid and easy. I was happy when my adviser who was helping me (a novice) navigate the pitfalls of buying a house told me that this guy is doing a fantastic job and knows his stuff.Turn around on the report was quick, detailed and useful for re-negotiations. I will recommend him to anyone I know who's going on the market and serious about buying a house.

This may not be appropriate, but my car needed a jump downtown halifax in Morris street this morning and the owner of this company went out of his way to help when nobody else would.This doesn’t speak to the quality of he “work”, but speaks to the character. In today’s world this goes a long way. If I need a home inspection for a home purchase in the near future I know who I’ll call.

Overall a fairly solid inspection however, and it is highly significant, they missed that the entire basement was plumbed using Kitec piping. The piping was highly visible, and the words were written on it. I wouldn't have written this review, however I emailed Global with photos and they never so much as responded with an apology or anything of the sort. That poor customer service has really turned me off them and given they are $500 plus tax I would expect them not to miss something as prevalent as kitec piping, and I would expect a sincere apology instead of being ignored when I sent them photos. I didn't ask for any money back (although the kitec replacement project wasn't cheap), I simply wanted them to know to check white piping as well. That's all.
