Budget Truck Rental

Lack of honesty.. Booked Full size car online for a week for work travel but was given a mid size stating full size. Charged for the full size car rental, when asked upon return, didn’t adjust or make any changes. Better know about cars while renting from them otherwise would be taken advantage. They should be honest with their business and customers.

Rented a small cargo van to move to University at the Barrie location. The man didn’t even come out to check the mileage on the vehicle before we left. Once we got in the van this is what we got it. It was disgusting. Will never come back.

This review is specifically for the Barrie location on Bryne.I rented a car in Sault Ste. Marie to bring my partner to Barrie for surgery. We specifically rented a car because our van was having AC issues.I didn't notice any problem when we left because it was still cool out, however later in the day I realized that the 2022 Ford Edge Platinum we rented had no working AC.We got to Barrie ok and proceeded to call Avis/Budget in SSM. They told me to drive to the Budget in Barrie because they would be able to swap out my car. I arrive to find out there were no cars available.This wasn't their fault because if the SSM location had confirmed details ahead of time, I wouldn't have driven across town in 30degree Celsius heat with no AC to find out there was nothing.The nice young man at the Budget Barrie location apologized and told me to just give a call in the morning and he would set me up.In the morning I attempted to call Avis/SSM to make sure this was all good, and the person working there had no idea... Had to get his manager to call me (he never did)Thank goodness for Budget in Barrie for saving us, he swapped us out for a Ford Escape with working AC. Driving 6 hours in 30 degree heat back to SSM after surgery would have been terrible.

I wish I could give a lower rating. To start it looks like the guy is living in the store/office. I know times are hard, but the place doesn't even look operational. We got charged $230 because he claimed I brought the car back empty which isn't true, and he didn't even check the mileage before I took the car, which wasn't full to begin with. This guy is a scam artist. Don't go here.

It was a good experience for us. The attendant was personable, and discounted our rate because we had to wait for a while. The vehicle was good and it was available when promised.

I won’t recommend this place . I called on on Sunday masked for a car and they told me they have 2 available they said pick which ever so books a larger oneI asked what the rate was and told them I don’t need insurance.When o got there they make we wait 30 minutes the they took me outside showed me a cash with smakshed tail light. Then they gave me paper so sign. I told they I would get a ticked with smashed tail light. I came home looked at the paper work and the charged me over $230 per day. That’s rubbery. Not what they quoted me before. When i called to speak to the manager he told me he is busy and all he can do for me is to bring the car back . I didn’t get my money back. Renters beware.

NEVER RENT FROM HERE. Not only did this place say be back in 10 minutes. I waited from 9:45-11:20am for the be back in 10 minutes. They covered the number to call them at and when they both came back with timmies in their hands they both laughed at me and the other people standing there. They said “hope you weren’t waiting long” . This was the worst customer service. No wonder they make their rentals cheap because they know that’s the only way they are getting business . The “cheap” rental I received also had the red caution light on the full time as there was a problem with the engine and no windshield wiper fluid. When I called to ask the man said “oh just go buy some” or “go to another budget and they will give you a new car” budget I will never ever no mater the circumstances rent with you ever again. Please be aware these guys who work there are the most unprofessional people.

Excellent experience with them recently. I unfortunately got left in the dust by another company the morning of our move and luckily Budget came to the rescue. They had a car available and reserved it asap for me (and did not give it away to another person like the other company did). The front desk was extremely helpful, friendly and got the van ready right away for pick up. I will continue to use them any time I need a rental. Professional and very well done.

The car I rented was very nice and clean. Price was also very reasonable and there was no hidden fees. Matt helped me sort through getting everything sorted out. He was super nice and had an awesome attitude! Definitely recommend this place and I will use them again in the future for sure.

The Car was dirty. We had to do car wash. When I said the same the person the reception he just said it shouldnt be like that our cars will be clean no mater what and said why we should do car wash when we are dropping it.
