Winnipeg Humane Society

I went to the Humane Society to drop off some cat furniture and toys. Along with a retractable dog leash.This facility is fairly new and I had never been in it. They gladly accepted my donations, and were very friendly.I love the work that they do and I’m glad they have a big shiny new facility.Probably a few years old now but new to me.

I had to surrender my cat to them earlier this month as I couldn't afford to pay for an emergency surgery. I was treated with compassion and sympathy without judgement by the staff there. They gave him the surgery he needed, and apparently many scritches! I was able to adopt him back for a much more affordable fee, and was given advice for continuing care. I owe his life and health to the wonderful vets and vet techs of the Winnipeg Humane Society! Thank you so much for all that you do!

This is a good place, doing a very important job. The people I dealt with were extremely nice. The adoption person (Kyra I think) was very knowledgeable and very nice to deal with. If you're not looking for a specific breed, I think this is the way to get a pet. And if you are, it's worth looking here to see what they have to adopt. I can't say enough about this place. Thanks for the new friend, he's a beauty, and thanks for everything you guys do.

Earlier this year in January I adopted a cat here, and my experience has been amazing! The staff was courteous and helpful, they did a good job explaining everything to me and you can tell they all deeply care about the animals they care for. My sweet kitten came to me as a very fearful cat, I honestly had a difficult time in the beginning when trying to help her overcome her fear of people but the WHS helped me every step along the way and supported our journey when needed. Skip ahead to now and she is the sweetest cuddle bug and has the goofiest personality. I love this cat and she has the funniest little quirks which I all adore. I'll never stop recommending this shelter to my friends and family!

Puppy class is in a very large room. Kept very clean. I have only done a few classes, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else we learn. Nice paths outside with benches.They have a pet cemetery ❤️❤️❤️Great place to volunteer!

The staff were friendly and very helpful. They answered all my questions. This building is bright with lots of natural light. Plenty of windows. Clean floors and public washrooms. A shop to purchase toys and treats for cats and dogs. Very clean rooms to view the pets up for adoption. It was hard to leave there without another fury friend. Ample parking. Easy to find.

The adoption of the newest member of my family couldn't have gone smoother. I was given excellent advice on training and a folder full of information with medical records, behaviour, and a list of places for training.

I can't express how great these guys are. I am always happy to donate money and in kind when i can to this organization.Their foster program is so well laid out as well so if you are looking to and want to help, donate your time please don't hesitate.

Great facility! Took our pup to the puppy socials and subsequently 2 training classes. Made a big difference in us understanding his needs and him knowing how to behave well. Big credit to them in that we now are able to take him pretty much everywhere, and always get people commenting on how happy and well behaved he is.

Very caring and compassionate staff! We found a stray female cat that was pregnant. We brought her to WHS and they accepted her right away! They also said I can call for an update on her at any time!
