Sunrise Records

Should be called “Sunrise Movies and Tv” at this point honestly, I love that you guys bought out every music store we had and now it’s “well, kids like dvds and anime merch so we should only stock that”

Pretty cool store with lots to look at. The prices on most items I looked at were a bit high. T-shirts were $7 higher than most places, but it was all branded and band shirts, no stupid random sayings like it's always beer o'clock somewhere". The records were all pretty high

One of the best physical distancing measures of any store I have been to. Only allowed two customers at a time. Excellent selection of music, board games and movies.

What a terrible store. I attempted to order music they didn't have but both times the order was never placed. Staff claimed no record of my request.I emailed the company but, three years later, have not received a response. As well, staff, before the pandemic, seemed to change on an almost weekly basis. Since the pandemic the store had been open the width of a table allowing one shopper at a time. The few times I've been at the location I can see a single clerk standing behind the counter. This doesn't encourage loyalty or even another chance.

Very good selection and store attendant was most informative and helpful. I went in looking for 2 CDs, that were not available at another store but he located them for me.Prices were all very reasonable! I've been there before and will return more often.

One of my fav local chain music stores. It kind of replaced HMV. Some items hard to order due to continued record label shenanigans. Some stuff better priced than Amazon! Fun place and knowledgeable employees

I went there looking for the new straykids 5 star album and they had all 3 versions, and an entire kpop shelf with many other groups too! It's one of the only places in Ottawa I've found that sells kpop albums in-store!

I used to shop at the Bayshore location until it closed last year. It was a nice store with good staff. I hadn't been to Carlingwood Mall in almost two years, and when I walked by Sunrise Records today I thought I'd check out their jazz selection. I picked a Wayne Shorter LP for $21.99 but when the clerk rang it in the price popped up as $24.99. He said I would have to pay the higher price despite the price sticker in the album bin. He called over the manager who blamed Sunrise Records head office for insisting that customers pay the higher price when products are mis-priced. I worked in retail after retiring, and regardless of the company, ALL of them honoured the posted, sticker price. This is a management problem and Sunrise Records loses. I said fine, left the store empty handed, and when I got home I ordered the album off Amazon.ca. And that's why brick and mortar retail stores have been dying off the past several years.

A variety of audio stuff. Good spot to find a vinyl record.

So impressed. Went in and bought an external speaker set. The guy took the time and gave me step by step instructions on hookup. Was very helpful. And success. My 47 year old son came into my place to tell me to turn my music down. Haha
