This restaurant goes unnoticed with its basement entry type. You will regret not having spotted it, because it is one of the best Korean restaurants in town which is located in the heart of Chinatown and on Saint-Laurent Street that leads to Old Montreal and the Old Port.Created and managed by the same family for almost 20 years. Their cuisine has awakened my taste buds, and made me discover authentic and warm Korean cuisine. On arrival the staff is always smiling and friendly offering a good welcome. The interior is sober and efficient where several tables are available with different capacities spaced out reasonably. The à la carte menu is available in EN and FR consisting of the following categories: Starter, grilled meats, Bibimbap and stir-fried dishes (+ drinks).I recommend the bibimbap and the general tao chicken :), which are served hot and using fresh ingrediants.

This little restaurant right here is a game changer. If you want delicious, authentic Korean food, look no further! I was so impressed by how packed it was but also how quickly they turned tables and still took great care of every table so that we didn't feel neglected. Everything came to our table steaming hot (and I truly mean steaming) and was perfectly prepared.

This restaurant felt very authentic. As soon as I walked through their doors, I felt brought back to when I traveled to Korea. We ordered the beef dumpling, the porc bibimbap and the beef bulgogi and the grape soju. Everything was delicious.Would definitely come back anytime.

The menu is diversified with vegetarian and vegan dishes. The staffs are friendly. The place is very cozy. The next time I’ll go, I will try the kimchi fried rice.

I appreciated the low key homey vibe this place provided and the Korean food was delicious and tasted genuinely home made. It is run by a very nice Korean couple and their daughter and it was packed so expect a wait during busy hours, well worth it in my opinion. This is in the Chinatown area of Montreal and is very reasonably priced. I’ll say it’s priced low when compared to general dining costs in Montreal. Loved their jajangmyeon, it was perfect with the bean sauce - not salty at all. Also, loved their Dolsot bibimbap and their tofu soup, both very flavorful and freshly made with fresh ingredients. I wished they included more side dishes aside from the potatoes and kimchi but that’s ok. I’ll highly recommend Chez Bong if you want some good Korean food in Montreal Chinatown.

The atmosphere is pretty cozy, it's kinda hidden and secluded. The service was ok. We had to call the waiter ourselves and throughout the night no one checked up on us even once. However, the main problem was the food itself as it was just average. I had a hot bibimbap (so did my friend) and it was missing sauce and flavor and the portion of the chicken was seriously ridiculous (in both). It was probably one tablespoon of chicken. It's not very clear in the picture, but it barely covered the top corner. Please adjust the portions of protein that you put in your bibimbap. Another food unrelated thing was the bathroom which was really not clean, not well maintained, smelt bad and there was water all over the floor. I would definitely come back if those things are improved, but as it stands, there are better places in Montreal for the same price.
