This museum is so adorable. The staff/volunteers are so friendly and helpful, they seem to really enjoy being there. I was expecting more of a reading tour with not many activities so I was unsure how a child would take it. To my surprise, there were things to interact with just when the reading got boring" to her which made pacing nice. There was also a little scavenger hunt with a prize at the end which I thought was a nice touch. There were even more interactive displays and things to do downstairs. My only complaints would be that I think one of the displays might be broken? And that I would have liked the museum to be open longer

An amazing and educational experience for all ages. We went there with my father who is part of creating this thing, and my son who is 5. Both I and my son were attending for the very first time and it did not disappoint. He found the displays interactive and intriguing. He walked around a few corners and his first response was wow! The video playing downstairs held his attention from beginning to end, he seemed to get a lot of great information out of it as well. When we return to the main floor he asked to go around again. We will likely return what's he is a little bit older so he can enjoy these displays on a whole other level.

I pass the sign for this almost every day. I needed something to get out if the house today so we checked it out.Fun little museum, lots of cool old things and tells a very interesting story.2 rooms of interactive displays plus a room showing old electrical safety PSA commercials (I'm assuming its used for presenting to school groups). A fun trolley with a bell for the kids.

The Manitoba Electrical Museum follows the history of Manitoba's electricity through six themes from the 1870s to the present and looks into the future. The lower level features a new exhibit, Sustainable Development: Caring for Our Common Future. Electricity and electrical safety movies can be shown in the orientation room on the lower level.Visit the online Powering up Rural Manitoba exhibit in the Virtual Museum of Canada’s Community Memories. Take a virtual trip through the 1940s and 1950s when the Manitoba Power Commission embarked on the ambitious goal to connect 50,000 farms in 10 years to the province’s growing electrical grid. See the pictures and hear the stories from those who were a part of this growth

A must visit place for everyone, especially young kids to know about the history and evolution of electrical accessories. It is a small museum, but with precious things to watch. I really appreciate the way that they have organized the things. You will be able to see olden day radios washing machine, oven, bulbs and Iron boxes. Quite interesting. For young kids they have few hands on presentation which they can explore by themselves. Please take your kids and visit. It's just 3$ per person in this fall during specific time. You can spend as much as an hour. People in the reception are very kind and they offer a mini tour for people visiting first time.I love the Ancient tram used in Winnipeg a rare thing to see. Come and Enjoy.

My husband and I visited the museum today. It was very interesting to learn the history of Manitoba electrification and see old electrical appliances from the 1900s. Very friendly staff.

This place is fantastic. The staff were full of information and if you take the time to read the exhibits, open all the drawers and interact with the moving displays you will have a great time and learn a lot. Not a massive venue but full of information and we ended up spending a surprising hour and a half here.
