No wonder you have such bad reviews... my mum asked for help sitting my dad yesterday, who has dementia, we have already been referred to you we have already met with you and you said you could help yet yesterday we got a can't be bothered response" you are a bunch of crooks... when people need help

I have been volunteering with the VON for over a year. The employees and volunteers I have engaged with have all shown genuine care for the work they do. The front line staff does not get as much recognition as they should.Just know there are clients out there that appreciate everything that you do.

Overall I've lost respect for the VON personal support worker program for a number of reasons:1. They have repeatedly changed scheduling models since I began the service in 2009. This has created inconsistency in the time I receive help and who covers the visit when my primary worker has vacations, sickness, family emergencies, etc.2. They have gone through numerous personal support worker program supervisors since I began receiving the service in 2009. I don't think a change in supervisors happening nearly once a year to be healthy functioning organization.3. Most recently the front line personal support workers schedules aren't being released until the day before. When I've asked for my schedule in advance it hasn't been given to me. This is preventing me from engaging in the community.4. I even had a personal support worker attempt to convert me to be a Jehovah Witness (which is against their Client bill of Rights).5. When I've been away from home the personal support worker service I've received from other competing organizations has been far superior.I whole heartedly do not recommend using the VON personal support worker program. Furthermore the VON personal support worker program is in part funded by the 'Ministry of Health and Long Term Care'. I feel they need to be held accountable for their short comings on tax payer money.

Zero continuity of care. Can only fill 1hr/day 4 days a week and even then it’s someone different every day, and arriving at all different times. Calling at scheduled time to cancel visit. Steer clear if you want competent PSW’s and the same face once in awhile for your dying family member.

Worst experience ever. Some of the nurses and the team leader of trenton is so rude and they limited me on supplies for my picc line causing it to plug because they said not to flush every day yet if I didn't the pump would beep off and I'd have to go to emerge wait for 2-4 hours for them to unclog it. You should never mess around with a picc line that goes to your main arterie...
