Chris Lesso is a true guru of the drums, and teaches with a passion and energy that is inspiring.His knowledge and skill allows him to provide strong fundamentals instruction, master-class techniques, and explore a wide range of musical styles in his teaching.I have been playing the drums for 13 years, and working with Chris for the last 2 years. From completely reworking the way I move my arm, wrists and fingers, to advanced rhythm techniques and groove development, he is an expert craftsman and wonderful person. Chris has a passion, excitement and dedication for drumming and for teaching that you just won't find anywhere else. Bottom line, he will make you and better player, and you will love working with him.

For the past three years, I have been travelling over 700 km (one way!!) to meet with Chris on a regular basis at his studio in Toronto. I always find his knowledge sharing compelling and his passion contagious. Chris makes learning challenges seems natural and enjoyable. This guy is a great teacher. He's seriously knowledgeable about drum technique and will open you up to different styles of playing as well.Studying with Chris made possible my further studies with Dom Famularo (Chris' teacher), and at the Drummer's Collective and Manhattan School of Music. None of this would have been possible without the foundation provided by Chris.Anyone serious about improving their playing needs to spend some time with Chris.

I had Chris as a teacher throughout my teens and into my early-20s. Looking back, Chris was easily one of the greatest mentors I ever could have asked for. He's a master of positivity, and makes the process of learning a difficult skill both rewarding and fun. He is patient, hard working, and always made an effort to really connect with me and the other students I saw with him.What has really struck me as an adult though, is how many of his lessons have carried over to my everyday life. Sadly I don't play drums as much as I used to, but the skills Chris taught me to get better at drums are skills that apply to getting better at most anything in my life. Chris doesn't just teach you a skill. He teaches how to get good at ANY skill, while simultaneously demonstrating the passion needed to improve.If you or your kid needs a drumming teacher, there's no better option.
