Gord Smith marine is a no non sense place to bring your boat. Gord took my information regarding a serious loss of speed on my fishing boat. He cleaned my carb & inspected all other components that could be responsible for my problems. No more issues outboard sounds & runs great. All this for a honest price on top of it he saved the rest of the fishing season . Dealing with Gord was great. Better than many other places where your just a number & as good as the last dollar you spent.

Not sure where all the good reviews come from. I can only assume they are from Dundas locals who have known the family for years.I dealt with (or tried to deal with) them for a few seasons. I had put aside a substantial amount of money to have various mechanical elements of my sailboat engine and electronics repaired and/or updated but the most I could ever get them out to do was an engine inspection at the beginning and end of the season and even that was like pulling teeth. Much whining and complaining about not having time or not being able to do things until the boat was in the water and then not wanting to do them once the boat was in the water because they were too busy.To be honest, they are no worse than most of the local people in the area who have shingles out advertising boat maintenance and repair but, to top it off, they're darned unfriendly, in my experience, to boot.

This family run business has been maintaining our boat for five seasons now and we've experienced only good results and friendly service. Gord, his wife Barb and now one of their sons, who recently graduated, as a certified marine mechanic, are always straight forward when it comes to our boats needs.I'd highly recommend this business, to anyone seeking a worry free season on the water. Called ahead, pulled in, and was immediately insulted by the mechanic over my diy boat cover. I could have easily taken it off but he wouldn’t stop berating me. I couldn’t believe how unwelcoming they were. I’m a very accommodating person, so removing my boats covering wouldn’t have been an issue, but I’m also not an idiot.Will be taking business elsewhere. Still dumbfounded at my treatment.Edit: Been over 6 months now since reviewing, haven’t heard anything back, no followup/ they couldn’t care less.

Best place around for parts and advice on older drives. If you have an OMC stringer set up, talk to Gord as he can help you out. I’ve purchased numerous parts for my boat here and everyone has fit perfectly.
