Wow! What an amazing, authentic experience. I highly recommend it I learned so much and I feel like I made a new friend in Newfoundland. This was the highlight of my 10 day adventure in Newfoundland. We spent several days with the team from Under the Stump.. They provided a walking tour on the beach, followed by a picnic with white tablecloths. We made Ugly Sticks with Trina, followed by a dinner of freshly steamed muscles. Finally, we went on a “bike” ATV up into the park in search of Moose. Trina was a very entertaining and informative guide. You can’t miss have a good time in her company.

Since we were unable to do much hiking of our own, this ATV trip was a great way to see the back country of Gros Morne. We did not see any wildlife, but did see many varieties of flora, which Perry identified for me. He cheerfully answered our myriad of questions about certain aspects of Newfoundland life that had puzzled us, customs and way of life. He pointed out things of interest and told us a few stories as he drove us from forest up up to a treeless landscape with a view of the Gros Morne hills. Getting out to admire the 360 degree view we were struck with the absolute silence. Standing on a bed of soft moss and lichen, one feels as if one has to whisper, so as not to break the spell.It was a well-spent evening.

A fabulous experience! My husband, two teen boys and I did the Take a Gawk UTV tour with Trina and had a fabulous time seeing the back country of Gros Morne in her awesome vehicle. We went over some hilly, bumpy terrain but barely felt the bumps. The scenery was spectacular and something that very few people get to see if you're not a local. Trina is so friendly and knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the local flora, fauna and traditions, along with what to do if a moose charges you based on her experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore a beautiful part of our country with someone who knows it well!

Had a wonderful experience with Trina doing the 2 hour Eastern arm look about ATV tour. She is extremely kind, knowledgeable and friendly. It was so clear she cared about providing a good experience for us. It was nice to learn about Indigenous culture and traditions. Seems like a fun activity rain or shine! We got lucky as we booked last minute and she was able to accommodate us for the same day. Thank you Trina!

Had an amazing ATV experience with Perry on July 18, 2021 with 2 friends. Perry shared his immense knowledge of the area with us. Back at their cabin we were greeted by Trina and their son Scott. We were served tea, delicious face and eyes buns with the most delicious jams as well as partridgeberry pie. We were then entertained by Trina on the guitar. Trina showed us how to play the spoons and ugly sticks. It was such a memorable experience and would highly recommend it.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience! Trina was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Love being able to go see places where you wouldn't normally if you weren't a local.

This is a must do in Gros Morne, especially if you have any accessibility accommodations. Trina and Perry will work with you to make sure you’re able to get an amazing experience into the back country! Testing homemade berry jams and jamming on the ugly sticks at the cabin was a real highlight! Thank you Trina for your stories and local knowledge!

We had 7 family members, grandfather, parents and 4 teenage boys go out on an ATV tour in the backcountry with Trina and Perry with a countey kitchen party at their cabin with interactive music and some local tasty treats.The scenery was jaw dropping, the interactions were genuine, as was the laughter.Trina and Perry were amazing, everyone agreed that the tour was awesome. Anyone who can get that reaction from three differnt generations, make teenage boys play musical instruments in the forest and make everyone feel like family deserves our family two thumbs up.We are trying to figure out how to make time for another tour during our tine in Gros Mourne.Chris

We enjoyed a very enjoyable couple of days with Under The Stump in Rocky Harbour Newfoundland. Took an educational walk around Baker Bay with lunch, enjoyed an ATV tour in the Gros Morn Park back country and created our own Ugly Stick. Trina and Perry are awesome people and proud Newfoundlanders. Highly recommend their services!
