I will give Zero star if I could. Nothing but headache. Trying to get my Costco MC since early Sept 2022. Now it is the end of 2022 and I still haven't gotten my physical cards, yet I have already received an email notice of my statement being available. How? I haven't received the cards, my account isn't activated yet, and how the heck did I already have statement waiting for me? Call center was no help either. No one knows what's going on. Everybody has the same script to read from, Script # 1 - wait another 5 to 10 business days and call back" or script #2 - "your cards are sent rush

Very annoying company. Keep sending letter go raise my credit limit. Can't login apps without they ask to raise limit. Others banks don't do that. + There is no way to stop them

The worst back ever I wouldn’t refer this bank to anyone I’ve had numerous complaints and no real action or care on their part about my complaint.there debit cards are not for the visibly impaired no brail it’s 2023 are you serious to what save a few Pennie’s this is disgusting and there card I’ve replaced numerous times because there thin and very fragile not to mention slippery cibc your absolutely the worst!

I have banked with the CIBC for years and years. 25 years ago it was a great bank to deal with but not anymore. This bank must have lowered their criteria for employment. Customer service is dreadful, communication is poor. One would think that in order to communicate with the client base the employees would be fluent and articulate in the English language. This is obviously not the case. Totally unprofessional better service at Walmart!

Horrendous, horrible customer service. l have tried calling the customer service visa dept. for 5 days now to no luck to get questions answered. Two customer service rep. from personal banking said they but through a request for a manager from the visa dept. to ca me and no one has done so. Every two hours l call because l am on hold and the call drips after that. I may have to leave Cibc they do not respect customers time. Please help ASAP!!

I wouldn't even this a star at all. Poor customer service at their fraud department. I tried sending wire transfers several times to the same beneficiary. The first time they rejected and kept my service fees for something that they didn't even perform. The second, I went and did another wire transfer. They asked loads of questions before they even released the funds. My most recent wire transfer was submitted last Wednesday, April 5. They (the fraud dept) kept going back and forth with me and the teller at the bank. The fraud dept kept claiming that they tried calling me when I checked my phone there was no missed call one bit. Who are they to question me about what I do with my hard-earned money? It's my money I should be able to do whatever I want to with it. It's my risk, my loss, and I take full responsibility for what I do with it. They should have never rejected my wire transfer when all the prior ones have been approved and released to the same beneficiary I sent to on multiple occasions. If you are going to reject the request at least provide a reason and not keep the service fees as there was no service being provided. This is the worse experience I have dealt with while banking with CIBC. I will be moving my funds out and going to a bank where they will appreciate my business and understand the reasoning behind my wire transfer. They have idiots working in their fraud department.

Had to go in 5 times under 3 years. Worse service and bank I have ever dealt with. Today was the icing on the cake. All my account will be closed. Manager said he didn’t care !!

Had a super bad banking experience with their customer service team, the guy was rude. He wasnt willing to listen and kept on arguing with me. I was charged unnecessary fees and requested a reverse on those for one time request and good will gesture. The guy name Jay Patel was stubborn, he wasn’t professional at all and handled the situation. Whenever I asked any question he had to run it through by his team lead and does not know any answer. I am highly disappointed and will be informing all my family members to withdraw their accounts and wealth management from CIBC. Super upset, Took me an almost half day to reach them, no resolution at all. Thanks cibc for wasting my time, your staff and team lead in Visa department could not come up with a solution or value customers. Staff kept on arguing and demanding me to listen to him and was not even willing to listen my side of story.I would urge all reviews reader to reconsider your personal banking and business bank with CIBC. The staff is not professional, customer service was worst then a fish market. Cibc if you think I am making stories, you are welcome to pull the recording of my conversation and see how I was treated by your associate. He wasnt willing to give me a time frame, he kept me on hold to avoid helping me or answer by questions. It seems they have no training. I demanded a manager, he did not know who his manager is, he said he can transfer me to his manager but mentioned wait time was an hout, i have screenshot of being on call for almost hours and they can not offer a simple one time overlimit fees reversed as it was not even my mistake, the banking in wealth management also agreed with that. I thought calling cibc will provide me their assistance, instead of such a bad experience I am left with no choice to leave this review. I will be filling a formal complain with CDIC AS WELL.

Never will I bank with CIBC...called them today (07/19/22) to activate my credit card and the representative on the phone told me that I need to go to the bank to verify my ID with them...why? Don't you have my information on file? I currently have this credit card....and it now in my drawers...where it belong! Bye CIBC...you lost a client!

Mr John Ferren, CIBC Senior Vice-President, Personal Deposits, has ignored my requests for a telephone conversation (in order to discuss his letter dated April 6, 2023). Mr Ferren has not shown the respect and professional courtesy to reply via a direct telephone call. CIBC should remind their staff, including Mr Ferren, that keeping a current client is easier than obtaining a new one. In addition, last year, a CIBC financial advisor did not act with the proper diligence, causing an error in my investment account. Due to the lack of concern and respect by its employees, I do not recommend CIBC.
