Lakeland Inn Motel

While staying here in January 2022, I saw a live bedbug crawl across the pillow next to me. I sent a picture to a pest control professional to confirm that it was definitely a bedbug. When I told the management, the owner first told me that it was not a bedbug, and then tried to tell me that I did not see any bug at all. This reaction was not only personally insulting to me, it also indicates that they do not take bedbugs seriously and will not have them treated properly by a professional. Avoid this place if you want to avoid bedbugs.Aside from the bedbugs, the beds are comfortable, and the tv and wifi are acceptable. It is moderately clean.

Stayed here for a couple days during a family visit from Alberta. Was disappointed to say the least in room number 1 as it had and probably still does have sewer smelling. For a quiet town, the freeway was surprisingly busy as we were awaken during the night on a regular basis. As choices are very limited, I would advice to not stay here and find other accommodations.

The owners are friendly but the rooms are definitely in need of a maid who knows how to clean....walls were filthy (looked like someone urinated and blew their nose on the wall) and hair was in the bath tub.

Hello Friends, Lakeland Motel has improved a lot and still improving. We have taken over this place just two weeks back. We as owners understand, this place not well kept and was in pretty bad shape. We have changing many thins like mattresses , doors and taps. We are trying to turn it into a nice, beautiful and a comfortable nights-stay place. Please try it once. Thank you for all your support.

The new owners are great!!! The roomwas nice and clean they are doing a awesom job love the changes that they are gonna be doing to the motel. The room was clean and quiet i love that cant waitnto see what other things they will be doing they are great people"

Great little small town motel. Good value for money. The rooms are not fancy but they got all the essential stuff right. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable - new mattresses -and the bedsheets were soft and freshly laundered. The shower was hot with lots of pressure. Good Wi-Fi. The owners have clearly made some improvements,I hesitated to stay here because some of the previous reviews were not good, but I will absolutely stay here if I am in the area again.

I stayed in this Lakeland Inn motel on Now 22, 2021 just for 1 night, because I was bitten by bed bugs. The stove was broken, the room so stinky, that I have to open the door every 15min. The sheets were in red dots, probably from bed bugs, and dirty.

No money has been put into this motel in a long time. It appears they ran out of paint on the exterior. The door to the room is not sealed. The room smelled dusty. The bathroom needs to be repaired. There was a patch on the wall above the rusted old baseboard radiator. No hot water in the sink. Beds were comfortable fortunately. The shower was weirdly good. The front desk was friendly. But the kids were scared they would find bugs and I was happy to leave.

New ownership has invested resources into upgrading rooms. Kitchenettes are available. The room we stayed in had new mattresses and new bedding. New paint. Lots of hot water, great shower, fabulous restaurant across the road called Chris' Place.Being off the highway we expected road noise but we were pleasantly surprised that we didn't hear anything other than each other snoring hahaha!We were a little reluctant to stay after reading previous reviews. Sudesh posted that new ownership had taken over and were working hard on upgrading and improving the rooms etc. We decided that the only way to establish whether Lakeland was a good place or not was to visit and to report on our experience.Our experience was a positive one. It is clear that the new owners want both the restaurant and lodgings to succeed and are not afraid to ask for feedback and to implement changes that will benefit guests and local patrons whether in the motel or the restaurant.We were treated really well at the motel and the restaurant. We even got to be a part of the test kitchen" when we were offered a soup that was not on the menu...yet!I hope anyone reading this review will be encouraged to try Lakeland Inn and Chris' Place when you're in the area."

The rooms were plain but clean and comfortable. The desk clerk was helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my stay and the motel was perfect for our hunting trip. I would stay there again.
