Mitchell Eye Centre

The staff are absolutely amazing and helpful. Yes there were waiting times between tests but that is normal. So people need to stop complaining about that. Dr Mitchell is fabulous and through in his explanations and caring. I am very happy with the service here.

I can’t complain about the doctor, their assistants, or the procedure, all of which were perfectly fine.I do take issue with the fact that in both appointments I’ve been to I’ve spent more time sitting in the waiting room than I have being seen. Today I arrived on time for my appointment and then sat in the waiting room for over an hour.When I approached the front desk to enquire about the long wait and if they could give me an idea of when I might finally be seen the receptionist was extremely annoyed and said long wait times were standard practice.

Fast and efficient! and still time to answer my concerns.Dr Mitchell and his staff took care of my eye issue and gave me the information I needed for the future, Giving me the confidence that my optometrist had sent me to the right place!

The 2 office people at the front desk are friendly and efficient and really help the patients. The Techs and the Doctor (Robert Mitchell) were professional and knowledgeable. My case was out of the ordinary and I felt that everyone has a vested interest that I was taken care of.

I’d like to start off by clarifying one thing; The Doctor we saw here was brilliant! BUT THE STAFF ON THE THIRD LEVEL were absolutely awful. We drove for 45 minutes to get to our initial appointment only to find out it was cancelled- without notice. We agreed to come back the following day; we sat in the waiting room for over an hour - at which point I was told we were next. Then, 6 people were called before us. When I approached the front desk with my concern, I was asked by “Courtney” if I’d like to reschedule… ARE YOU KIDDING ME???So they thought it would be appropriate to send us home and have usDrive 45 minutes back on the icy roads. Complete disregard andDisrespect for patients’ time. Total time in the waiting area was over 90 minutes.

I have been going to the Mitchell Eye Centre for almost a year. I also bring my mother there for her eye care. My mother cannot speak for herself, so it is very important that l understand exactly what her eye care entails. All of my questions are answered each time we visit, and l never feel rushed out of the office. It is easy for me to say that we both have been treated with kindness, patience and respect during our visits.I would also like to note that $5.00 is not a lot to ask for when it comes to parking.THANK YOU to everyone at the Mitchell Eye Centre.Christl RiebererMartha Rieberer

I have visited the Mitchell eye centre calgary. Several times in the last five years . Several years back my son was admitted there in a emergency when he cut his eye in half in an industrial accident . The specialists . Saved his eye and he has still got perfect sight. He is 28 years young . And very lucky . Thankyou to the specialists at Mitchell eye centre. They are caring people and we are all lucky to have them . Highly professional and attentive. Don’t get me started with the ladies who work the front desk. Couldn’t set an appointment or go out of their way for much.The place is a Cattle farm for the blind. This place must be raking in the money. Led to one waiting room after another. Finally see a doctor 2 hours after appointment time. Unacceptable practice that has become common practice. Complete lack of respect for clients and patients, time and energy.Sad what our privatized health system has become. If this is what privatized health care looks like, I want none of it. Just a way for the rich to get richer.

Patrick Mitchell has been my Ophthalmologist for at least 10 years. There’s a lot of waiting involved in his appointments, but I’m not docking stars for that. That’s to be expected everywhere these days. His staff are exceptional, he is very reassuring and skilled when performing operations. I hope he never stops working and never moves cities.

I’ve taken my Mom to multiple appointments here for her eyes. Every time we have had long wait times and a waiting room jam packed with patients. When it is finally your turn, you’re rushed through your appointment. My Mom has mobility issues and uses a walker. There is very little room to move around in the waiting areas or exam rooms with a walker. My biggest takeaway from this centre is there is no cleaning being done between patients on the equipment. Any eye clinic we have ever been to, they always sanitize right in front of you before they start. It seems this place is all about money and not quality care.
