La Maison Montessori Kingston

We are very happy with our experience at La Maison Montessori. We are very grateful for the communication (newsletters, updates, brightwheel app) and our daughters compassionate and kind teachers. As a new preschooler in the class, we notice that our daughter comes home singing, speaking French and sharing how much she misses and cares about her teachers and friends. In addition, her independence has flourished and we think she is well on her way to being ready for French Immersion next year. We feel the administrator is focused on our kids wellbeing, safety and development. She also values and observably cares for the teachers happiness, well-being and success in the classroom. We are very happy to be a part of this community.

New owner is kind and loving, and has personal relationship with each child. Much needed changes are finally being made! I would recommend this school for every child! My own two children have wonderful benefits from it already

We have been with MMK since July 2021 and have had a very positive experience. Our children have both had wonderful teachers, who create a safe and loving environment. While we were concerned when two educators (whom we loved!) left the school due to relocation and a mat leave, Mme Deepa has done a great job recruiting new instructors. She's has also done a great job ensuring everything about the school is up to code and the new parent portal has made communications with instructors very easy (letting them know when we're late; getting updates on meals, activities and photos). Our son is currently in the preschool class, and absolutely loves his teachers Mme Yasmin, Mme Johana, Mme Betty and Mme Hitomi. Our past experience in the toddler room with Mme Kim and Mme Amy was amazing too. The school definitely fosters the independence and self-determination that you would expect for Montessori.We can also attest to the benefit of being immersed in the French language from an early age. My husband and I are anglophone, and our kids don't hear French at home. Our son now understands French very well and can often be heard singing in French or making simple communication in French. Our daughter, who is now in SK in French Immersion, has had an easy transition and is flourishing at school, and we often have conversations in French, which is wonderful.We've had a very positive experience at MMK over the past 2 years. We had one year with the original owner and one year with the new owner, and I thought the transition was pretty smooth, considering the huge undertaking this would be. We have had no major complaints, and are confident our children are being well cared for and the top priority.

I want to express my deep gratitude to the teachers for the sensitive and caring attitude towards my child. It is such a happiness to see the joyful eyes of our daughter every morning when we are going to kindergarten. I want to say special thanks to all the educators, they will always find an approach to any child and can entice with an interesting game, fairy tale, lesson. God's teachers! Children appreciate a good word spoken, encouragement, a kind heart, a warm look and a smile ... And we appreciate you for this! Thank you for your hard work!

Our family has known the current Director (Deepa Martell) of MMK for several years. She is a dedicated, compassionate, and caring individual who always has the best interest of others at hand. She has ample experience working as a teacher with children with special needs and has also demonstrated, and continues to demonstrate, an interest in assisting children in their gradual development while continuously ensuring their well being. We can certainly attest to that with regard to her interactions with our children and her own children, over the years. When our 16 year old daughter was diagnosed with Cancer in 2020, Deepa had sent motivational and inspirirational quotes on a daily basis, as a means to support her during those difficult times. When our daughter passed in December 2021, Deepa continued to be there for our family, and frequently communicated with our 14 year old son in order to provide him some additional support. She has demonstrated that she goes beyond her means to assist others. Based on what we personally know of the current Director of MMK, we would recommend this Montessori to any interested parent.

As a French-Canadian, having my child immersed in a French environment was a big priority of mine. La Maison Montessori Kingston’s staff make French a priority and make sure to communicate with the children in French daily.The communications between the administrative and pedagogical staff with our family has been clear, open and always focused on the children’s needs and development. Unlike day care facilities, the staff are all trained or are working towards their Montessori certification and foster a safe environment for the children to grow and feel comfortable working on skills appropriate for their age and personal abilities.My daughter loves all the teachers she interacts with and yells out in excitement every time we drive by the school. I highly recommend this early childhood educational establishment.

My now 3yrs old started from last Aug. Almost everything for now is positive. My LO started from Toddlers, Mme Kim, and Mme Yasmin were attentive, and friendly. And she started to love this place almost right away, literally I am quite surprised that she did not have a tough transitioning at all.Now she is in preschoolers’. Love every teacher!! Talks about teachers and her besties all the times at home now.And whenever I had any question, the owner or teachers were very responsive. And tried their best to help me understand.I appreciate that they make such a good place to have my kid.Good job, Deepa, and teachers!!Oh, they did raise the tuition, yes, the 1 star review mentioned it, but everything inflated so much after the Covid, so I understand it.

New owners. The sterling reputation of this place is sadly a thing of the past. We were so disappointed with our experience at this daycare. The toddler classroom teachers were loving and caring- however the administrator of the school has no experience running a child care center and it shows. We were subject to her whims, constantly changing policy and handbook, fees were raised mid contract and communications were poor and fumbled. We do not recommend sending your child to this facility based on our personal experience. Many of the original families have since left and found other options as the situation became untenable. Please check Ministry of Education complaints and subsequent investigations website- there are multiple deficiencies noted about this “school”. We hope improvements will be made to the administration of what was once a great daycare.

I had the chance to work closely with/for the new manager/owner of the Montessori, and I would say that she is a person who does not trade quality for quantity. What I noticed is that she is extremely dedicated and an accountable person whether when she worked for others or while she's running her own school. I surely recommend her to any friends, and family or even myself. If you are looking to feel the peace of mind while doing your work, send your kids to this school since I think that there is not only a good teacher over there but a mom that will take good care of your kids.

We are very satisfied with the daycare. When we first came to La Maison Montessori Kingston, all hesitation was left aside. We were enchanted by the beauty of the interior. There is everything for children. Every day we make sure that we made the right choice. In our daycare, the teachers are real professionals, experts in their field and just wonderful people. First of all, we should thank the administrator for such comfort. She managed not only to create this atmosphere, but also to unite a team of real professionals. There is always an atmosphere of friendliness in the group. We are very satisfied with the daycare. We express our sincere thanks for your selfless and inspired work.We recommend this daycare to everyone!
