I had my basement flood April 12 th. and I attempted to repair the damage on my own,. Within a week with a terrible odour developing a I knew I needed professional support.My insurance adjuster suggested First Choice out of Chatham. What a great choice by my insurance company ! The crew arrived the next day, and began right away removing carpet, drywall, and dried up basement with huge fans, with all furniture removed into storage bin.The crews were very respectful to myself and my son. They emailed, text or called prior to arrival, and kept me up to date on plans moving forward. They always arrived timely and used all protocols for COVID safety ! Every work person who entered my house was very friendly, understanding to my need with my dogs, and health care of my son.The work was completed timely within their limitations, which I was all right with. Bob the painter was excellent, even cleaning a window I cannot reach, and putting valance back up after laundering. He sanded and painted grates that needed refreshing without being asked, Such a difference that made! The subcontractor for the flooring and their work crew were very friendly and fast, offering suggestions for the flooring and furniture to protect both ,in the event of another flood .God forbid !When the Dave put the baseboards in last week, it changed the dynamics of my room! The clean up was completed so thoroughly..I was so impressed. My basement has never looked so good. Fresh,, clean and very inviting. Thank you so much Chris, Caleb, and Kevin, and crew , you were a such a pleasure to work with !I will happily recommend First Choice to any of my family and friends for their restoration needs. First Choice DKI my first call, Brian was out to assess the damages within an hour of the call. It was soon determined that I had a frozen water line that through the thaw process ended up with water in my basement. there was damage to drywall, mouldings, flooring that required fixing and replacing. The staff were on scene the following day and cleaning out the wet damaged items and the drying cycle began.Brian was in contact with the insurance company and plans were in place to fix repair and replace the necessary items to bring back to original room.The was completed quickly and efficiently by the qualified staff.Kevin was very easy to deal with and was always there if required.All I can say if you have an unforeseen disaster at your home or business your first call should be toFIRST CHOICE DKI DISATER RESTORATION you will be glad you did.

First Choice showed up quick after our bathroom flooded and got our bathroom gutted and dried out in no time. Next few weeks were a bit slower but we understood its a process and First Choice was clear and accurate with their time line. Bathroom is all finished and now and looks better then it did previous to the flood!

We were away on holidays. Got a call from house sitter that basement flooding. DKI to the rescue. They showed up quickly and started clean up. Amazing staff, knowledgeable, friendly and what a team. I had a small fire in my kitchen and when I called First Choice, they were here immediately and took control of the situation. I was so relieved when they were so professional and responsive to my needs. The quality of the services, the timeliness, the outsourcing trades, etc. etc. were beyond my expectations. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who is experiencing any kind of a disaster. I even hired them to do other jobs around my home which were unrelated to the fire. First Choice DKI helped us with a basement flood situation. They were always on time as well as courteous and professional. When the job was done, we weren’t happy with a few minor things, and they were more than happy to come adjust a few items to our liking. We would 100% recommend them to anyone.

I purchased a townhouse in 2019 in a good location, but it was in sad need of a renovation in both structure and appearance. Met with Kevin for an appointment at my home to see if what I envisioned was possible. In essence, I wanted a sad 20 year old home updated to as new. This entailed structural (knocking down a partition wall on main floor), removing flooring, laying new subfloor, reinforcing stairs to basement as well as plumbing and electrical throughout house. He gave me a budget for work, but confess I knew upgrades I wanted would be more. This, however, gave me a base point to allocate funds. I wanted no creaks or squeaks and Kevin listened to me to accomplish this. He made suggestions to accomplish what I was hoping for, despite Covid. As work had already started, a skeleton crew kept working and we communicated through emails almost daily. I lived downstairs then moved upstairs so work could be done down there. He even installed new racking in my walk-in closet as there was wasted space as it was. No request was too small. His team were all pleasant and committed to doing best work possible for my remodel Reno. If I had a concern or request, it was heard. Complete new large kitchen and updated baths, drywall install, all new flooring and baseboards, hardware replacement, repairs to areas discovered as in need of attention, painting throughout home, appliance installation. In short, a totally new home for me. The team even helped bring up boxes onto protected floors so I could begin to unpack. I felt they truly wanted me to succeed for whichI will be forever grateful as I begin life in my 2021 home. I have probably left out things as they did so much work. Thank you First Choice. You are The Best.

Was impressed by how professional and quickly First Choice came to our rescue given the fact it was just before Christmas when our water issue came to light. Very timely with all the COVID challenges. Great Job First Choice you made our Festive Season a little more festive.
