I had tea in the garden. The property is beautiful. The chuch bells rang, the flowers were blooming, and the service was good. It was a wonderful afternoon visit. The food was tasty. Compared to other teas I have had the menu was unique. The roasted chicken was good. I wish the scones were hot. The server did a wonderful job managing all of the tables alone.

I've been to Royal Eagle for dinner and then today to pick up some traditional meat pies. The dinner was absolutely amazing, however, the meat pies were less than desirable. I expected more.

Our return visit after many years for afternoon tea showed a high level of service, food quality and truly unique atmosphere. Beautiful dining and patio areas. Efficient and knowledgeable server. Russian tea glass holders, podstakanniki, are used and are unique and detailed. There are many historical items around the dining room including a wax cylinder phonograph, many antique samovars and a gem of an unfinished portrait of I think Czar Nicholas II in the side room off the main dining room.A walk of the gardens and visit to the chapel are a must. Many have said it, but this is truly such a jewel in the unassuming neighborhood.

I wish there were 6 stars! This place is fabulous! The atmosphere is pre-Revolutionary Russia, the hospitality is unexcelled, the menu is extraordinary: beef stroganoff, chicken kiev, duck confit, hassenpfeffer, salmon entrees....and the dessert...do not leave until you have the Russian Napolean. And the restaurant is set on the grounds of a gorgeous Russian Orthodox Monastery. Serene, peaceful, wonderful place to have a superior gourmet meal.

The food was very good, and it was unique dining experience. I went for the tea luncheon and didn't realize they preferred reservations. But the staff were very nice and found a table for me and my friend.

What a beautiful restaurant and the surroundings of St. Sabbas! This gem of a restaurant is unique in every way from the decor to the menu. Chef Peter has created a beautiful menu with his team. Please do try a starter of the Deviled Eggs atop with Smoked Salmon and their famous Beef Wellington. You will not be disappointed.

I can't describe the serenity of the gardens. It must be experienced. No matter your beliefs, you will feel the spirituality of this place. The food is phenomenal! I have Celiac's and the chef made me a special plate in place of the sandwiches and a dessert like I have never experienced in my life.

Dining here was a wonderful experience. The interior was cozy and well-decorated. We made a reservation for high tea (7 courses), at a very reasonable price, and they allocated us 2.5 hours which was the perfect amount of time. The staff was very kind and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Each guest got their own teapot with their choice of tea. Most dishes were served family-style.There are limited numbers of tables and staff. During our meal, we watched many guests wait for their table. One group had waited an hour past their reservation time. If you make a reservation, please respect your given time allocation to allow for other guests to be able to experience this wonderful place! Before making a reservation, be sure to review their dress code (no facial piercings, conceal tattoos, below-the-knee dresses, sleeved shirts, etc.) and etiquette. Phone calls are not allowed to be taken on the property, but you are able to take photos.
