Ontario Small Claims Court

My experience with speaking to the staff has been terrible. I have called and emailed multiple times inquiring about how to deal with an issue with my case and no one has seemed to want to provide me with helpful information. After calling multiple times, I was told to send an email with all of my information so that they could help me. After sending a long winded email detailing my issue, I received an email back with only a link to a website and was told to read a certain section. The kicker is I have already read the document and no where does it answer my question or pertain to my issue. The court system is not what I would consider common sense and staff should be trained to be patient and helpful otherwise they shouldn’t work there at all. Instead of help, I received flippant responses and got the impression they couldn’t be bothered to answer my questions.

A case that should take less than 6 months to go through a trial takes ~6 years. Judgements are easily set aside for the defence. Why approve the plaintiff claim if judges are allowing it to be set aside. This makes it Impossible to collect once a judgement is reconfirmed. Staff will encourage you to file documents and learn how to do the paper work doing while do your claim yourself, but then judges will tell you have to use a to use a lawyer for trial. The condenses is not to be represented but for a judge to tell if your case is true or not. Will complain there are too many endorsements and call it a sxxt show. Any other court in a different region of Ontario would be better than the slow speed of Grenville Davis small claims court. Even the new small claims court building doesn’t improve the services it is still post pandemic at 50% capacity and they are only open 4 hours a day to the public.

Was trying to get help with filing evidence and I got a woman doing dishes eho had no interest in helping me. And when I asked her to stop doing dishes so I could here her she hung up. I phoned back and it said the number was no longer in service...OUR GOVERNMENT WORKING FOR US!!!

Be careful from ladies judges in family courts, some are bias to men and husbands and favour mothers . A discrimination happened to me. A judged named Justic pareant" happened she kept on being racist on my case left me with $50

This place is traumatic. No one tries to help you. The clerk's who work there just clock in and clock out. No enthusiasm, dead ambiance, not a pleasant place to be. The manager who manages counter 1,2 is EXTREMLY vicious, tense and rude. If you need to get things done in Brampton court, sucks for you. Not a good place to be.

Apparently they close from 12-2pm!? Would've been nice if they could've updated their hours to reflect that

Never been there. Just want to know if the divorce certificate can be picked up directly from courthouse rather than applying online?Thank you

I work in a law office, and have been trying to reach a clerk at the court for the last half hour, the only person I have been able to reach is in the finance office, and they don't know anything outside of their office. It is useless trying to contact anybody there in any way other then to attend in person. I don't know why they even have phones there.

Small claims court associate on the phone refuses to help or give her name, was extremely rude & hangs up on you, has a very thick indian accent like she just learned english . All she will say is go online and won’t even hear genuine questions.
