Buntzen Lake Recreation Area

Everytime we came to this place , I feel entering heaven. Beautiful and lovely place. Place for BBQ and swimming and boating… just don’t forget to get the reservation for your car

What a beautiful place. I've lived here in BC for 28 years and had never been to Buntzen Lake. We didn't know we needed to have a reservation to visit for a couple of hours but the gatekeepers were very helpful and friendly and helped guide us through the process on the BC Hydro website. I definitely would love to return for a paddle board or kayak session here soon.

Buntzen lake is always a great place to go for a hike. There's fishing and stuff there too but we always go hiking when we go there.

Buntzen Lake is always a great choice for a family picnic, BBQ, swim, or to paddleboard/kayak. The beach is a little rocky vs. sandy, but if your plan is to be on the water, then you're good to go! Make sure you get online a couple days in advance to reserve your parking spot! You can't beat recreating on lakes and in forests 10 minutes from Port Moody.

Buntzen Lake is surrounded by mountains. There are lots of resources and facilities to have fun. You can go fishing, boating, or hiking etc. We enjoy the entire summer here every year. We love picnic with family or friends, having outdoor tea times with music, playing cards, and kayaking in the cleanest water. Have a gorgeous time!

Probably deepest lake in town. Boating, floating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming in this peaceful lake with multi-trails. Family and friends pinicing and picking up berries along the way too.

Great place to spend the summer. There's a big space for tent pitching and picnic, and salmon berries growing around the parking lot. Overall it's a nice place, kid and dog friendly too. You might also try hiking for more adventure. There are clean washrooms as well. Staff are friendly and there's a tent where you can loan a life jacket for safety. You may bring your inflatables or paddle boats.

Amazing place for a relaxing picnic. Good views, clean and well maintained beach area. Well organized parking lot. Bus comes very close to the recreational area for anyone taking public transportation. Got to see a bear cub wandering around!
