Grappling Brook Falls Trailhead

Beautiful Place

The trailhead is not marked and there is no car park or anything. Drive until the end of the tarmac and then you can easily park by the side of the road in a few places. Start walking along the dirt road and then you will come to a fork in the road very soon - take the right hand fork and the rest of the trail easy to navigate. There is a natural turning around point after about 5kms when you come a large rotting bridge - just before this the trail was roped off and there is a small path down to the rocky beach with a brook meeting the sea. The bridge has a proper steel and concrete frame which made me wonder if the trail was once used for some commercial purpose - I would be interested to know the history of it!

Been wanting to do this a few times and could never find the proper directions. First bridge was great, second was a little worse for wear and the third is completely impassable. Went to the beach on the left and followed the brook to the falls. Overall a beautiful hike.

Nice short hike

I made it 5 Kilometers in. Encountered 3 bridges, first one great shape, second one a little dicey and the third I had to go left towards the beach which allowed me to see the nice stream underneath. the last kilometer of the trail is fairly overgrown and requires some branch braking. Some access spots to the beach came in handy for my dog to cool off.
