Pleasant Stay Motel

The exterior of the place is really run down, The driveways' asphalt is deteriorating. At night, I could barely see the driveway in from the highway.Checking in was confusing. Originally, the owner told me to wait as they make up a room because he didn't understand that I already booked a room online the day before until he saw my license. Then I just had to wait to get my roomkey and remote.The room itself wasn't bad. There was a tile headboard and tile bedside shelf (which had a broken tile). My only problem with the room is that the pillows were way too flat for my liking, and the tv remote had it's volume on the side which I only learned when I was checking out. The bathroom switch was some industrial switch, which is quite frustrating then I'm trying to turn on the light in the dark.Checking out was a breeze.Overall, the motel was better than I expected from the reviews I read on here, it's not the Hilton but provides good value for the price.

Good stay for the night, might get a bit cold with the stone floors in winter. Clean rooms, bed and bathroom in decent condition. Road noise at night is minimal and distant. Free parking right in front.

If you drive, location is ok, maybe even ideal since it's (way) off the beaten path...but if you do the bus/bike thing like me, having to get about a 10 minute drive from the shopping area out at Wilson/garner area to waaaay past Ancaster fairgrounds to what is actually the far side of 'Alberton' is a bit of a trek.But, it's reasonable and cleaner than it's city competitors and often available when nothing else is, still a better choice than a *few* Hamilton dive motels I won't mention but you likely already know...Rooms were Ok, it was quiet and secluded, staff were polite and friendly but not nosy or intrusive.Super cheap around $60 but cash only and deposit up front (expected)Not exactly the Ritz but adequate for the price!Bonus, it's pet friendly if you ask in advance and extra cost not too bad.
