I cannot say enough about Thistledown Pet Memorial in Uxbridge. Colin, Nancy and Nicola are warm, attentive and patient, providing compassionate care to everyone who has lost a beloved pet. Pet owners receive unconditional love from their pets, and for this reason, the loss of a pet is just as traumatic, or more traumatic, than losing a human friend or family member.Just as people seek out a funeral home for their family members after death, Thistledown is there for those of us who wish the same respect to be shown to our deceased pets.I am so grateful that such an establishment exists.

Two weeks ago our family had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Mars. Lost in our grief, a special friend connected us with Thistledown, and we will be forever grateful. On a day full of loss and heartache, Nancy and Colin surrounded Mars and us with love and compassion. They gently guided us through the process, shared special ways to hold Mars' memory close, and gave Mars the most precious last gift - dignity and grace. Thank you Thistledown for being there for us and going above and beyond to provide Mars with a peaceful, loving farewell.

On Thursday, March 1, 2018, my beloved dog, Rosie, a rescued walkerhound passed away just shy of 17 years old. I adopted Rosie when she was 8 months old. I love Rosie very much and she was a very special dog. I am grateful and I was blessed to have Rosie in my life all those years even though now I miss her very much.I took Rosie to Thistledown on March 1st to have Rosie euthanized by a vet. There I meant two of the kindest people that I have ever meant in my life, Nancy and Colin. They are so loving, kind, caring, helpful and patient; they could not do enough for Rosie and I. Nancy and Colin are also meticulous and perfectionists in their work. I felt so much love from them at such a sad and difficult time. Rosie and I could not have been in better hands; Nancy and Colin are filled with endless love for people and animals. I have had pets who have passed away due to old age in the past at a vet's office as I did not know about Thistledown, and comparing the two experiences is similar to comparing night and day. It was my honor to meet Nancy and Colin and I will never forget them; I feel God gave us these earthly angels to help people and our beloved pets. Nancy and Colin always say they meet the nicest people but this is because Nancy and Colin's love rubs off on all of us and makes us nicer people from having met them.I wanted to share my thoughts about Thistledown and Nancy and Colin so other people and their pets can experience the same love, kindness, and care that Rosie and I experienced. Nancy and Colin treated me like a family member and I know they treat everyone the same way. The testimonials on their website are filled with love and gratitude from people who also had the opportunity to spend time with Nancy and Colin. I am so glad I took Rosie here to be euthanized and for her cremation. It is the most loving way to say goodbye to our beloved pets. All the best to everyone,Love Nancy and Rosie

Thank you to Nancy, Colin, Tristan and Nicola for taking care of our beloved dog, Double Double. Throughout the entire process of our attended dedicated cremation, we really appreciated their attention to detail and gentle care when preparing our keepsakes, and were given as much space as we needed to say our final goodbyes. They were so respectful and took the time to listen to us as we shared memories of our sweet boy. We brought home a beautiful urn that we picked out as a resting place for Double Double, which we learned was a one-of-a-kind creation by a local granny, making it that much more special. They were patient in answering all of our questions and walking us through everything, even before we decided that we would cremate our 13.5 year old dog at their facility. You really can tell they are all animal lovers, which is important to us as it’s a reflection of how they would treat deceased animals too. Thank you for honouring Double Double and helping us through this difficult time.

6/5 STARS...I can't recommend highly enough. I can find no words to express the depth of our sincere gratitude for the services provided at Thistledown and for the gentle kindness of all staff. From our inquiry phone call and throughout that fateful day, everyone was so very helpful, thoughtful and respectful. In a time of such profound sorrow, they truly went above and beyond to provide a peaceful farewell to our beloved Remy. Our heartfelt thanks to Nancy, Colin, Nicola and Tristan. Bless you all for all you do

We brought our dog Jack here after he passed suddenly at 11 years old. Jack was more like a family member to us than a dog and our vet had recommended sending him off to Toronto for cremation. This was not the route we wanted to go and we are so grateful to have found a special place like Thistledown that holds pets in the same regard that our family does. We are grateful for their compassion and kindness through a difficult time.

The most kind, patient, and compassionate people you will ever meet. Saying goodbye is the hardest part of pet ownership and the team at Thistledown provides the type of emotional support you need. I have been going to Nancy and Colin for years and intend to do so for the rest of my pets. It is always a sad occasion to be here, but their presence is so comforting. Thank you for everything. I would highly recommend Thistledown to anyone.
