Took my HP laptop here a few years ago after thinking it was toast due to contact with liquid but in fact it actually just needed updates (quick backstory).So, this gentlemen working there who was basically like a robot with no emotions tells me its my motherboard and would cost like $1300. I left there defeated and eventually thought to call Costco where I purchased it from. They helped me reset and update it over the phone and it has worked fine ever since. To think I got this geek squad worker for gave me false info almost costing me $1300 was sickening after the fact. Also, my mom used to pay for this service and every time she had issues with her mac they would not fix the problem/be helpful. Geek Squad sucks and there is a reason they have really bad reviews. Go elsewhere.

I bought a 4K TV and paid extra to get it calibrated. I just recently signed up for Netflix to get 4K contents and found out that the calibration did not work for 4K videos and the picture is very dark. I called Geek Squad and they said my calibration was done more than 90 days ago (it was 4 months ago) so I would need to pay another $300 for a Tech to come out and check the calibration settings. This is disappointing because the calibration setting is locked and only Geek Squad can unlock and fix it. I won't be using this service again.

Bought the protection plan for a New Sony TV last year, I was told in the store that if I had any sort of issue, I’d just bring the tv in to get it repaired or swapped for a new one. One year later the audio and visual starts glitching, lights streaking across the screen, etc. it’s been mounted on the wall since it was bought, and no physical damage to it. I opened a case online to get it repaired, with no response for a week. Then I brought it to the store and they said to call the Geek squad phone number, and that the person on the phone would schedule my repair. The person on the phone said to just wait for the service repair person to call, and they would escalate. I waited another week, calling the service repair company over and over which always went to voicemail. It’s been 5 weeks, the service repair person has never come to see my tv and I’ve just been emailed that it will not be covered due to damage to the screen… but there is no screen damage? And no one has ever come to see the tv?Call geek squad once again and they said they’d try another service company and to keep waiting. Last time I EVER buy anything at best buy. What a scam.

If I could rate lower I would. Worst warrenty I've ever paid for. They will not fix the product. When the warrenty costs 20 percent of the cost of the TV. They already fixed" it once. I wish they would actually deal with there problems.*update*I have tried calling GeekSquad. I have tried chatting through their online contact. They called me prior to Christmas regarding my warranty issue but have never called me back. I went in store only to be told its a third party service and Best Buy can do nothing to help me.I followed the 'helpful' advice given below and visited the Best Buy contact link. The chat redirects me to their membership page and when I try to open their 24/7 chat line there

The screen replacement on my laptop was done well and ensuring safety of it being delivered was good. The shipping to my address was bad. Put my correct street address and postal code but wrong city/town. I had to drive 30 minutes to go get it.

Purchased Galaxy Z Fold 3 last year. Bought the warranty at best buy while purchasing the phone and the sales guy told me to get the most valuable warranty plan that way it covers water damage. Bought it and tried to use the warranty and it is asking me to pay for a deposit of $2800 up front. It doesn't make sense for me to pay for that amount even though its for the security purpose. The sales guys at Best Buy did not even explain how the system works. It is the workers job to explain those kind of important info that way customers are aware of what they will be facing for it. Called the customer service since I had the cover for an 1year they would not refund it. The worker even just hung up on me without any notice. Never buy phone warranty through best buy or geek squad. Service is not great. Waste of money and time.Warranty means we pay less and get fixed and you guys are asking me to pay $2800 total for security reason that is not a warranty. it is called rip-off. The attitude with the custom service is out of hand. $2800 is not an excuse for security reasons. since I am paying for the warranty the sales guys had to explain it to the customer thoroughly not poorly. If the worker explained it to me correctly I would not have purchased the warranty. I feel the Best Buy and Geek Squad robbed me the way the customer service guy explained. This is rip-off and offended by it. They way that guys talked to me was it was my fault not knowing how the warranty works properly.This kind of big companies should not have that kind of way of solving the problem this is wrong.

Terrible customer service. When you have multiple computers it doesn't allow to pay for both on the same date each month. They also have a glitch non user friendly website for your billing plan/s.

Absolutely Terrible customer service from Geek Squad. Try to file a claim for the insurance coverage of my phone. Info I was given doesn't work online to file a claim. So I call in to get help only to be transferred through every department until finally I am told I have to put a deposit down of double the cost of the phone. Other option to just mail mine in and wait to get it back. Apparently it's beyond their capabilities to just take it into a geek squad location in person as no one their knows how to use a courier service. When I tired of dealing with a rep that just kept repeating the same statement and ask for a manager or supervisor I get told they don't have any and I can wait for a callback 24-48hrs later. The call back came 4 days later and only to have the rep who called me back tell me that I am wrong and the people I spoke to did not say they would call me back 24-48 hrs later.And after it all they still refused to apologize and file my claim and kept stating that I am wrong and was not told I would receive a call back in that time frame.Never use this service they do nothing to help or accommodate what you have been paying for.
