BMO Bank of Montreal

I don't know about tellers, but the people working inside the offices (by making appointments) are very unprofessional, unfriendly, and make a lot of errors. This branch is so detached from other branches that they seem like having their own policy and stuff. If I go to another branch, everything works flawlessly, but not this branch. When you make an appointment online, avoid this branch at all cost.

The staffs at this BMO branch are friendly, approachable, easy going and a great help. When ever I have any questions or concerns regarding my accounts, debit card or credit cards, they are more than willing to help. If they don’t know something or unsure themselves, they will personally contact MasterCard or Visa on my behalf.

I had booked an appointment to open an account with this bank with Gary (sun) at 2pm. Arrived 5 mins prior out of respect, only to wait around and find out that apparently appointment times at this bank or by this person are neither respected nor met. It is currently 2:35pm and have yet to have anyone help me. What a bad first impression on behalf of this bank/ branch.

I’ve been using BMO at this particular branch for probably almost a decade now, it being my first bank since I was a teenager. I’ve never had any issues with it so far. I’ve transferred and taken out large amounts of money, shut down accounts, upgraded plans, the usual... and everything would go smoothly each time. The tellers were always polite. I haven’t really had too many meetings with the office clerks, but the 3 times I did they were all polite and helpful too. If anyone is looking to open a TFSA and start investing in mutual funds, I would recommend Raymond, he helped me start a TFSA and helped me choose the funds that were right for me. When our meeting was running short because I was asking so many questions, he said he would meet with me the next day to continue. The set up of my TFSA was very easy, and I’m happy with the account and the whole experience. My dad went this branch two times within a day to help me pick up wire information of my account since I was out of town and we need the information right away. The first time, the stuff at the counter told him to tell me that I need to make a phone call at BMO telephone banking to authorize him so the bank can release the information to him. I called, but the stuff over the phone told me she can't do that. Second time, the staff at the counter told him to tell me that I need to make a phone call at the BMO telephone banking to put a note stating the father will pick up wire payment information". I called again and the stuff answered the phone said they can't do that. He was nice enough to call the branch manager and told me the manager said they can't instruct client doing so. It's good to know this information from the manager and the telephone banking which costs me an hour time plus my dad's travel time. I've been with BMO for decades but never encountered such unprofessional service like this time."

Came to close my account and the teller stated 3 times that if I wanted to do business I would have to open another account which obviously I don’t want to do my business with BMO anymore hence why I’m closing my account! Just let me close my account instead of trying to keep me as a unsatisfied customer like is it because I look young they think I have no clue what I am doing? I am a proud condo owner at the age of 20 and have made most of my fortune in stock trading etc. don’t they say don’t judge a book by it’s cover well I may look like I’m still in high school but I’m not which is one of the reasons I decided to transfer my business to TD BECUASE if their outstanding service and better plans thankful after today I no longer need to step foot in one of BMO’s locations ever again.

Victoria, one of the bank tellers, always makes my visit to BMO a pleasant one with her light humour and bright attitude. I needed to pay off my credit card a few days after my birthday, and although there was a long line up she took the time to congratulate me and wish me well. A few days later, I received a birthday card in the mail in regards to my visit. It really makes a huge difference to the customer's experience with little gestures such as these - thank you!

When the staff take the time to handwrite a card and mail it to customers, it shows strong dedication and value of service. My mother was delighted to open your thoughtful message and the gesture does go a long way. Thank you to the staff of this branch for recognizing and valuing your community members.

I had a bad experience here her’s name is Aina she doesn’t know how to do costumer service and how much she was rude to me how she talking to clients and she just look at the computer when she apologizes to me I feel sad here is near by my place but i never want go again
