MCSS Peterborough – Ontario Disability Support Program / Employment Supports

It's been 2 months and I haven't got a call back ab my dental assistance maybe I'll just wait til they're infected and go to the hospital atp

Support worker is away, seems like every time I call. this go around been 5 days waiting for a return call. Tried calling again today. worker still out and the worker taking over is out as well, to top that off, the answering mssg is so difficult to understand not exactly sure what was said. tried to talk to operator, she would not pass me through to anyone actually working..

Never answer the phone. When they do on the off chance answer, they transfer me to my worker and then she never answers the phone. I leave multiple messages and never get a call back. It’s ridiculous. I live in Brighton as well, and it’s really odd to me that they have me in the Peterborough office when they have an office closer to me in Cobourg. If I want to actually talk to them since they never answer the phone I’m going to have to go all the way down there and even then they might not even be there. Seriously, change the way you do things.

I've been unable to receive stable income support from ODSP. They're constantly delaying my checks with little or no notice. My checks also vary greatly in size and frequency leaving me with unstable finances and unstable living conditions. Last winter I was cold and hungry and I was ok at the beginning of the summer but I've been broke for the last two months. They offer no support. It's just a program of hoops that if you jump through you may continue to live in poverty. If they would just cover the cost of transportation to a job until my first pay check I'd of had 100 jobs by now. But they run employment support externally through private agencies. Which you may attend one agency, one time, and use one service. That is all the support they give. Which is nothing but a dead end in light of new jobs requiring new training before and after employment begins. Right now in my fridge I've: milk, lettuce, and mustard. No medication and my check was due today but wont come until sometime next week (If I'm lucky). The one good thing I've to say about this place is that I've had the same ODSP worker for more than a year now.

They were much better>5 years ago. Today they didn't even answer the phone. Doug Ford is ending ODSP silently until BAM! you are all out of luck.

If I could rate negative 5 stars I would. Unbelievable how poor they treat everyone and how lazy they are not to mention all the manipulation games they play on you by cutting off your basic needs like rent and medications if you don't bow down to them like they're superior to you, if they aren't as narcissistic as they come I don't know what is.

They cut off my medical and dental without talking to me. They never return phone calls. They think they know more than my doctor who submitted my disability papers himself. They only give 600$ for an apartment but there's nothing for rent in Peterborough for under 1000$, they never adjust prices for inflation until you're without a place to live and frozen to death on the street. Before I signed up for odsp many years ago my agent wouldn't sign me up unless I gave her all the money in my wallet. They also gave me a form that listed bed bugs as essential.

I had nothing but issues with this office. The caseworker I had wanted me to give up my doctor in Ajax, even though there were not any doctors in the Peterborough area.It was very difficult to get in contact with our caseworker sometimes waiting 2 weeks just to get a return phone call.I found this office to be generally unfriendly and unprofessional.

Because of Covid this agency first sends you through to a call center who are very kind and attempt to get relevant information. They then transfer you to who you might need. If you are lucky to have a good worker the process is seamless.
